Re: Make Linux static build
Shipping an archive with the libs would work equally well. Running these commands is hardly any work, though. Neither is getting the correct libs, either [ via package manager ] or [ by wget + setting LD_PRELOAD=<lib-dir> ] Install: $ ar x factorio.deb $ tar -xzvf data.tar.gz $ rm -r control.tar.gz ...

Re: Conveyor Belts eat items
Aha.. So that's where I _actually_ got those items that randomly appeared in my inventory... I built some inserters earlier than the chests/machines.
Hmm.. You are right, there is no easy catchall solution.
Even if the items were repositioned on the belt, there could still be some leftover items.

Re: Conveyor Belts eat items
So that's why the raw ores get in my inventory even though I didn't mine any furnaces?
I would still prefer that to be fixed.

But I can go and see that the insertee is full enough.
Hmm.. The lab could actually indicate that simply by having no research selected. Okay

Such condensated suggestions make it really hard to respond. @ water. Yes, we should be allowed to play with water. And impassable terrain could be mountains instead. @ prerequirements - if the intermediate products have already been built, they have. You can't undo a recipe. Don't complain that you...

Re: Research progress lost without warning when changing pro
On a related subject: when multiple labs are operating and one manages to finish the research “unit” that completes a project, the others immediately stop researching, wasting the science packs they were currently using. How would a lab indicate that it's not working, because the last part of the r...

They don't take space.
They take SSD's overwrite cycles (which are fairly limited)

Re: Display range for turrets
Oh, that would be indeed useful.
I wonder whether that would also work on enemy creeper spawners and turrets.
(I am not even sure which ones display their range)

Re: How can I continue ?
The game should definitely tell you that somewhere, so SSD users can adjust their save interval.
My current save has 11MB. 300MB per hour. I doubt that the save would stay 2*3 minutes in cache without being written.

Content of this thread really surprised me...
This idea is really nice, spraying creepers with boiling water / steam? (how can you atack one with steam? it has low density compared to water)

Re: bigger power poles
wood-iron-steel seems like the good approach.
I think that even the wooden one should have a piece of stone in the recipe to account for it's stone part
(It's a concrete frencepost with a wooden rod screwed in parallel to it)
