Re: PayPal blocking our account

The big red warning about Paypal on the Indiegogo page is gone, but there is no post about any evolution of the situation. Is it solved or not ? I hope it is, or my 10 euros went to waste this evening... If you paid, they'll either get a copy of the alpha or refund you. They wont let you loose mone...

Re: PayPal blocking our account

Doing research for something like this is important. From what I've read, Payza is just as bad as Paypal.

Amazon and Google both have payment services and good customer ratings. The article I provided also has plenty of good payment services.

I just did a quick Google search of "Payza reivews" and there are half a dozen comments about the company ripping off it's costumers.

Re: PayPal blocking our account

Sorry to hear you have gone through so many problems with Paypal. Amazon Webpay or Dwolla are two of the many better alternatives to Paypal. Here is a good article on the subject. You have our support, good luck. http://lifehacker.com/5821634/why-you-should-ditch-paypal-and-use-these-other-services-...

Re: can't "mine" turrets or labs

The developers have said that players can go back and use version 2.8 on the website.

This would seem to be a bug with 2.9?

I would be happy to help with early alpha testing. How do I sign up?

Note: I have five years experience writing bugs and running test cases.

Re: Hidden ores

I'll make it as clear as possible for you as you're having a hard time: I. Simply. Do not. Like. The idea of. Imaginary ores. That's it, that's all I'm saying. You went about it in the most arrogant and combative way possible. I love studying science it's kind of annoying when a smug jerk calls me ...

Re: Hidden ores

Much contrary you're just pointing out your lack of scientific knowledge Wow, you sound like a smug elitist. We are talking about science fiction not science fact. I do agree with one point though, this is quite pointless. Because writers of science fiction take what we know now... and imagine much...

Re: Hidden ores

The chance of finding a "new" element in nature, on this or any other planet, is small, very very very small. As much as I agree this game doesn't have to be built 100% of reality, and what is "realistic", adding an element not excising in the real world (and by that I don't mea...

Just to know, what do you know about chemistry ? ^^
I know we recently discovered a new 113 element.

Besides, this is science fiction, not science fact. Reality can be stretched a bit.

Re: Role playing direction

I think it could be fun. Keep in mind that one of the key concept of Factorio is not to belong to any existing concept: it's half sandbox, half RTS, half Tower Defence ... it could be half RPG. (since 3*1/2 is already more than 100% ^^). Also keep in mind the future MultiPlayer mode: it would proba...

Re: Hidden ores

I'm more excited about ore types like Adamantium or Mithril. Diamonds don't matter much to me. In Minecraft diamonds are used very unrealistically; but if they were used in Factorio they would be more realistic (diamond-tipped saws or used in lasers). In Minecraft you make swords and armor out of i...

Re: [Idea] Advanced Metal Smelting

Yes, I like the idea of electrical furnaces and requiring fewer furnaces (even if the steps to produce iron are increased).

Basically this would mean fewer furnaces and more factories? I'm not too clear on that part.

Re: Role playing direction

Good ideas! Classes I could imagine having different classes you would choose at the start of the game, each would have different bonuses. a) Engineer (better recipes for certain items (faster/cheaper circuit, some machines etc) b) Fighter c) Scientist (faster/cheaper research/upgrades) I would alwa...

Re: Fight

Ability upgrades for suits would definitely make the game interesting. Might I suggest: - Melee Damage Boost - Do twice as much melee damage. - Melee Speed Boost - Attack twice as fast with melee. - Melee Augmentation - Attack with bear hands, similar to a power glove (does more damage than pickaxe)...

Re: Alien World Suggestions

Have you ever tried swimming with a few thousand iron bars and a couple of steam engines in your pocket? I did it in games like Gothic and Minecraft and it worked just fine :) Yes! It is the developer's job to decide what is possible in the game. You might decide that water has to be an obstacle fo...

Alien World Suggestions

This game is amazing already, I just had a few suggestions about the alien world itself. The game needs more interaction with the non-player characters, including hostile plants and animals. Hostile animals - Currently we have fish, which just swim around. The game really needs a sense of a hostile ...

Good suggestions.

I'd also like to see more stuff to do with water. Being able to build bridges would be useful.
