Re: Remove or Miniaturize Circuit Networks
Removal would be awful, its useful in so many ways and needs to be expanded upon with more wire colors, more signal channels to use on a wire (color coded signals would be huge for increasing functional density), and minaturization of the components. Quite simply it makes no sense that an inserter c...

Re: Increase assembler input buffer for stack inserters
I'd much prefer a configurable cache size. That way early in game I can tell things to only load enough material for the next object to be made, while later in game my high volume production stands can run with full stack buffers in them to make sure they never stop.

Re: Bitter Wars
The AI is glitchy- its possible to make the biters attack each other, it is also possible to make follower bots attack each other. Basically if one attacks another intentionally or not, this often happens due to splash damage, they will immediately fight to the death. People experimenting with flame...

Re: Train unload poll
I usually use a hybrid of the two systems: Bulk cargo like ore, oil, and plate is loaded and unloaded by belt. Getting a uniform draw across all of the boxes is tricky, but between combinator magic and belt splitters it can be done. Incidential cargo like repair kits, bullets, and spare bots, I usua...

Re: It's too bad that the robots can't work outside the game....
I just woke up from a dream where I had my robots designing and building new blog websites for me according to the blueprints that I had designed. When I woke up, I couldn't help but wonder if there could be a way to actually do this using a device similar to the doc's portable holographic emitter ...

Re: Entity that produces alerts on map
You know, a combinator-like device called the alerter would work nicely. When its programmed condition becomes true, it triggers an alert with a user defined message. Like so you can set it to tell you when you are low on a material, a train reached a station, or anything of a long list of things th...

Re: What happened?
Its just a typical bot uprising. Once one of the moderators comes on they'll deal with it. I've reported a couple of them so that the moderators get a notice when they login saying that there are posts waiting to be addressed.

Re: Whats the stance on griefing ?
another thing, there is already a way to protect against griefers, banning them yourself. instead or relying on a un-elected third party to ban somebody else for you, its your own server which you should be policing yourself. Why are you giving away your control of something you own? it doesn't mak...

Re: Tesla Coil highest tier powerpole
You can tell a pole not to connect to any of its neighbors by shift+clicking it, and then place cables on it yourself. Similarly, if you are holding a copper coil you can drag it between two poles where there is an existing wire and delete the offending wire without having to redo all of the connect...

Re: Whats the stance on griefing ?
I do believe we as a community can make our own blacklist system. Personally I just ban people and move on because it's not worth the time. I would like to see a community blacklist though that server owners can submit players onto and said player can file appeal and go through they entire process ...

Re: Whats the stance on griefing ?
thats twice now iv been accused of being a griefer when you don't even know my ingame name; I hope you see the irony of the subject. Evidence #1: You are opposed to anti-griefing measures of any sort, as would anyone who intends to be a griefer. It is logical to keep the option to grief open...

Re: Achievements not quite working right
The train one seems to be tied to the position of the moon and the amount of werewolves active, cause on one server I got tons of achievements like Iron Throne, Solaris etc just by joining, but getting run over by a train 10 times during my stay there did nothing. Next few weeks I spent my time on ...

Re: Whats the stance on griefing ?
I guess I've never seen a multiplayer game that doesn't have a (usually hidden) policy like this? If you had to manage this game, would you want obviously malicious players to keep roaming around? I still can't see how the blacklist is supposed to work though. Any kind of "evidence" or wh...

Re: Whats the stance on griefing ?
DRM would be what Minecraft does- if you don't have a valid username and password you cannot play at all even in single player. That is done as a countermeasure against illegal copying. On the other hand, requiring multiplayer users to make an account that can then be used for some degree of auditin...

Re: Construction bots should not try to repair moving vehicle
I rely on the construction bots fixing the tank while moving to improve its tankiness during a shootout with the biters, but the only time I have bots getting left behind are when they run out of charge, aside from early in the game when they aren't up to full speed yet. At the same time, the bots p...

Re: Marker for Drills w/ No Resources
Its pretty easy to check. Look to see if the drill is moving. If it isn't mouse over it to see what resources it has left. Can even do it while holding the deconstruction planner, so that miners that don't have anything left to retrieve are marked for the construction bots to pick up. Its really eas...

Re: Remove or Miniaturize Circuit Networks
I'd agree with minaturization. Even in real life, a simple if X > Y do this process decision was usually performed in a space smaller than a shoebox, although high power and high pressure applications would need more room than that to house the actual switching/valving hardware. While early digital ...

Re: Gun Wagons
Its come up before in discussions, and people have tried doing it as game mods. Unfortunately right now there is no good way to do this. The code used for turrets was not designed to be fired while moving. Mods that have attempted to create such a thing relied on deleting and re-placing the turret a...

Re: Solved a power crisis
My first save also had a tri-fuel scheme for the boilers. The way I did it was pretty simple too. Just a logi requester for each fuel type, placed in order on a stub of belt that led to the first splitter. It relied on saturating the belt so that the downstream types could not place material unless ...

Re: The new technology is coming!
This appears to have been implemented in the 0.13.10 experimental build, and works wonderfully well. Finally a solution to the construction bots deciding its a good idea to bring me all of the ore when relocating a rail station. With this enabled the constructors bring the ore to me, and then the lo...
