Re: How to use/manage blueprints properly??

I use books for grouping blueprints that have the same "theme", so I have a book for mining rigs, another for train stations, other for belts, smelters and so on. So I press 'B', ctrl-F for search the book I need and use it, at any given time I have several books in my inventory, when I'm ...

Re: Use nuclear product for Portable Fusion Reactor

And if it was a fission reactor, I'm not so sure I'd want to wear it on my body because of the radiation. Fusion is no different in that regard, plenty of radiation. Did you just try to say that the amount of radiation is in any way comparable? I don't know if they're comparable, my point was that ...

Re: Use nuclear product for Portable Fusion Reactor

It is a portable fusion reactor. Uranium is used for fission . If I were using fusion, I'd power it with hydrogen. Now if hydrogen fuel was a thing... However, hydrogen is present in the air in the form of water vapor. Just strip away the oxygen and you have your fuel. So I disagree--the fusion rea...

Re: Rocket launches even when output slot is full

Problem is that a rocket runs through 100 cycles of the recipe before it can start. I bet when you mine it you get back the resources for the current cycle. But not the 47 cycles completed before that. Well, isn't that issue?, only the rocket silo does that, and it goes against players' intuition b...

Re: Allow adjustment of constant combinators from the map screen

Being there became a moot point since blueprints update combinators. I'm curretnly doing the following to update circuits on a spread out map. Blueprint a combinator, paste it next to you, change the settings, blueprint again, stamp over the existing combinator at the outpost. Being able to directl...

Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)

That are essentially two proposals. The third one is mainly about solar (which is topic of way more nerf discussion). And adding reddit sources is a cheap trick, because topics are often just duplicated there. Apart from this, its no official souce for proposals I think. My intention was to show th...

Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)

Or you could also ask yourself why is there so much noise with people asking to nerf bots in every imaginable way now that the devs have opened the pandora box, but almost no bot balancing issues were reported before (and I could find only one mod that did nerf the logibots that existed before this...

Re: Belts vs Bots - A response to the latest FFF

However, I will argue that bots are balanced relatively to belts by research costs & straight up construction costs. Let's define endgame as "the point where you have researched everything and can build anything". Therefore, by definition, research costs and construction costs don't m...

The graph shows only 3 turbines, so I believe the rest aren't connected, check the electric poles.

Edit: and I can't be sure from the images, but it seems the right pump isn't connected to the boilers.

Re: [0.16.16] 2245% Lab speed

Probably lab research speed should add to module bonuses rather than multiply so the increase is less ridiculous (~+900% instead of ~+2000%), but I don't have strong opinion either way.

Re: [0.16.16] Do not count items in buffer chests

I had the same issue, but I'm pretty sure this is as intended. The stuff in buffer chests is available to personal logistics and constructions bots, and also to requester chests if enabled, so the count *is* correct. If you want to have always some items in provider chests so they can supply request...

Re: Acceleration bonus power creep

Uranium fuel is powerful, but it's is also a pretty limited resource. A full train network using hundreds of uranium fueled trains will devour a crazy amount of the rare resource. This can be a serious limitation on low resource settings so I think that's worth taking into consideration as well. I ...

Re: Belts vs Bots, here is my 5000 SPM belts-only megabase.

Nevertheless your calculation of x2.5 is wrong. You forgot the multiplication effect of the further needed materials, which also are more expensive needing the already more expensive base materials. i.e., but not limited to blue cards. what I did was to use an online calculator and compare the iron...

Re: How get robots go to the nearest Chest for uploading?

Bots will also prioritise chest that already have the item, so you can prim a chest with some iron and the bots will put iron in that chest (assuming that there're no other chests with iron). Is not a great solution but there's that.

Re: Another Loader-like solution maybe?

This was already argued when loaders were proposed, in the end stack inserters got introduced instead, they serve the same purpose without trivializing belts. Besides the issue with bots and belts has more to do with the limit of belt's capacity than with how you fill them.
