Re: Improve workflow by adding 'Copy' and 'Cut' blueprint tools

I'm all for removing blueprints from inventory altogether and as such am more in favor of a keyboard shortcut solution.

B+Right Click (drag): Copies all selected buildings into temporary blueprint
B+Left Click (drag): Pastes temporary blueprint into selected area, repeated if space allowed

Re: Ammunition Rebalancing

You make some good points. I updated prices. I also changed grenade recipe to steel for logistic purposes since it was the only munition still using iron plates over steel plates.
Still need to playtest some more before summing my thoughts up.

So are you suggesting that chemical plants make sulfuric acid slower or that demands for sulfuric acid be increased?

Wow that's awesome. Thanks for putting that together. Haven't had a chance to try it but once I do I'll report back whether I like my own ideas haha. Thanks again.

Re: Ammunition Rebalancing

Fuel Canisters, I assume mean The steel barrels, right? I was contemplating whether it would be better to use the existing barrels or add a new item. Using the existing barrels would be good because nothing would need to be added to the game, just change some recipes. However, it might be worth dis...

Re: Friday Facts #191 - Gui improvements

Finally it has been mentioned to change hotkeys for your 6th-10th items from shift-1-5 to 6-0. I agree with this change. Please DONT change the toolbar shortcuts from Shift 1-5 to 6-0 . This would be a huge step down in usability because most of us don't have fingers that can reach past 6 or 7 from...

Changed my mind about the atomic bomb recipe then went crazy and wrote down my thoughts on all other factorio munitions.

Re: Friday Facts #191 - Gui improvements

Overall great ideas. I was going to make a post on how we should be able to place ghosts after we run out of items. Very much approve of that change. Tabs sound good. As for the weapon GUI, I'd say add an option in the menu whether or not you want that displayed at all times. When it comes to UX &am...

Re: How resource scarcity affects production

I loved Total Annihilation. TA also had tidal power generators & metal makers. Metal makers were a less than efficient way to convert energy into metal. However, since metal patches were finite & energy production was not, they fit quite well situationally. Sounds similar to what the replica...

Ammunition Rebalancing

TLDR: All proposed recipes (except flamethrower) are in keeping with the 3 tier upgrade system prevalent in Factorio (tier 1=x, tier 2=tier 1+y, tier 3=tier 2+z) plus some other changes for gameplay/realism. Proposed recipes are also scaled down to be less of a resource sink on iron/copper since imo...

Re: Canceling crafting when inventory is full spills items

On a related note: Wouldn't it be nice if the item you have in your hand is still actually in your inventory? Example: I just dropped a deconstruction order on a large section of factory. Suddenly I'm swarmed by a million bots trying to drop stuff off, and my inventory is full. Oops... poor plannin...

This game could have existed without iron plates

I'm putting this in General Discussion instead of balancing since development is so far along that it probably wouldn't make sense to make such a fundamental change. 98% of iron ore that is mined in modern day goes towards steel production. Everything in the game that uses Iron plates would make mor...

Re: Iron sticks instead of iron ore in concrete recipe

I've been pondering both these recipes a bit lately as well. Concrete: I assume the logic behind iron ore being used for concrete over iron sticks is that iron oxide (used in most common form of concrete) is prevalent in the ore but lost when processed. (I think, not a chemist) I could see cases mad...

Though I have yet to try out storing/transporting steam for energy I'm not really liking the concept of it. Steam should lose heat over time when stored. I'd be more interested if a gravity powered energy storage system were introduced. http://bigthink.com/videos/views-on-fracking-and-green-energy (...

Re: filter inserter not used for any late-game item

While I like the idea of having a filter inserter in the recipe instead of the stack inserter, if you increase the # of items in the recipe from 3 to 4 you won't be able to craft filter stack inserters (red+green tech) until you get lvl 3 assemblers (red+green+blue tech.) Personally I'd be fine with...

Re: [QOL] more functions for construction bots & blueprints

+1 to all of this. As for removing modules, I was thinking what if modules were added to the deconstruction planner. Whitelist x module then drag deconstruction planner over (assemblers, miners, etc.) and all x modules will be taken out and stored.
