Re: You know you play Factorio too much when...

That last one had me really laughing there, just imaging the timelord tech needed to make a box inside your house contain enough stuff to fill said house... brilliant!

Re: [beta] Wagons: Electric Trains and Logicistics Carriages

Are they going to be auto targeting and work while moving? it could be bad to have a train go by a random roaming band of bitters, spit a few lasers, and then get trashed when the bitters catch up after it stops at the nearby station to load up. I hadn't actually thought about it. The mod mostly wo...

Re: 2^x vs y*10^x

It's kinda pointless to argue that a computer does calculations in base 2 when this thread is about calculations done by humans. :P Your computer won't care if stacks are base 2 or base 10. People, on the other hand, are the fastest in base 10 since it's the most commonly used system for counting, ...

Re: Self sustaining Solar Plant

The trick with solar is that it takes A LOT of space for the same output. My compact fuel based power plant is dwarfed by the space needed for solars(with or without accumulators) needed to produce the same power.

Re: Are nests with 90% worms intended?

I have seen many nests that were all worms as well as many that were one spawner with half a dozen or more worms... They are not the norm, but they are not uncommon in my experience.

Re: 2^x vs y*10^x

On the other hand, 10 allows for way easier and faster management of multiple large stacks compared to Po2. Speak for yourself. Powers of two are much easier and faster for me to deal with. As long as we have a split in half with right click, I would expect stacks to be powers of two. Thank Mod the...

Re: [0.10.0] Square Stack Sizes, return to the powers of two

I have been living in the world of powers of two since way back when we had races at the whiteboard to complete math problems using base-2 numbers instead of base-10. It just makes so much more sense to me. I havent downloaded 0.10 yet, but got the mod for when I do. I dont suppose it works with 0.9...

Re: Almost everything on one line

In my latest world I have adapted this to my style of spreading out... Every machine has a space between them. In many case, I have inserters directly feeding, such as copper cable to circuits and upgrades from first to second to highest tier. I also do two of each tier 1-3 research pack, too slow w...

Any chance it might be uploaded somewhere else at a later date? Here is a non google drive link, it is version 0.0.8. The only change from 0.0.7 is a awesome new sprite. Any reason you don't like google drive? I use it because I have an account and I know the file won't disappear in 6 months time. ...

Re: Trains vs conveyors?

Belt limits on total items transported makes entire factories unable to run without constant attendance, the opposite of what this game appears to be about, to me at least. It would be better to do something that targets long belts if doing anything... such as making belts a significantly higher pri...

That should not happen as you described. Try removing the biased route by breaking a section of rail to see if it will take the alt route. I suspect there is something else stopping it.

Re: [beta] Wagons: Electric Trains and Logicistics Carriages

As for liquid carts, isnt that the point of using barrels? fill barrels, stick em on a cart, and empty at the destination. If you want to be able to cart around other than oil, add new assembler recipes for filling barrels? Edit: Now that I am home, I noticed the download link is on google drive. An...

Keep in mind things do not have to be in straight lines. Things like research boots and horse-shoe circuit factories can help keep your facility from sprawling in only 1 dimension.

Hmmm, most curious. I believe you when you say it works, although the logic of it I do not comprehend. In my vision of fluid mechanics, after that "T", the one you see just before the lubricant chemical plant, the liquid would be spread equally (pressure wise) in both directions. So, in m...
