Re: fractal 512 belt balancer
I haven't found a better solution than putting 2 balancers in series to fix the throughput problems. There are clos networks which are theoretically the "right" way to do it, but the balancers I've found based on clos networks have more balancers in them than the doubled balancers I've fo...

Re: [0.15.13] Boiler is idle for a tick after craft cycle
We can easily call it game mechanics right? You can, but I wouldn't do so. After all belts got changed to be exactly 40 items per second for consistency and north facing inserters are also finally fixed for the next version. Another example was carryover of crafting time which affected every machin...

Re: [0.15.13] Boiler is idle for a tick after craft cycle
I wouldn't consider a bug. The machine needs to start smelting new piece of fuel, lets say it takes one tick. Doesn't this have a greater impact on items that burn quicker (meaning you lose a tick more often - nearly once per second for wood)? It's negligible for long burning items like rocket fuel...

[0.15.13] Boiler is idle for a tick after craft cycle
In a simple 1 boiler -> tank -> 2 steam engines setup the tank looses 1 steam every 3751Β±1 updates. My test setup: http://i.imgur.com/1kxVbcd.png Edit: Further investigation reveals that the boiler does not produce steam for a tick if the craft cycle finishes. Since I used rocket fuel I got ~3750 ti...

Re: Yet another belt balancer compendium
I disagree with both of you though. This compendium is a complete set of balancers that all have to follow the same conditions. There will not be some arbitary threshold of "small" balancers that are lane balancers when the rest is not. Also this is specifially a compendium of balancer whi...

I am pretty sure that the conditions in my OP were pretty unambiguous, but yes no inline and smallest area to satisfy the other conditions.sparr wrote:[...] so they aren't strictly inline. Are they lowest area?

That is a fair point, but the first entry of the changelog was
Added rail block debug visualization.

That was it. To be fair it was not mentioned in the change log.

[0.15.10] Zoom to map always shows everything without radar
When zooming from map you used to only see radar covered areas like in the normal game view. In 0.15.10 everything has the normal view when zoomed in past the threshold zoom level.

Re: Anyone Ryzen Benchmarks?
After one minute of running the save it stabilizes at ~22.3UPS. Factorio is very sensitive to ram bandwith and latancy, thighter timings do matter: https://www.reddit.com/r/factorio/comments/4h647g/factorio_performance_test_cpuram_based_fpsups/ http://i.imgur.com/905LnQP.png http://i.imgur.com/2eSPM...

Hi I Used this save http://www.tuwr.net/~factorio/factory%201%20-%20568hr.zip (without mods) on Factorio 0.15.3 On I5-2500 3.30GHz I got 19.5 UPS On Ryzen 7 1800X OC 4.1GHZ + DDR4 3200GHz I get 22.5 UPS This is bad, a mid-range CPU from 7 years ago have almost the same preference as a new, overcloc...

Re: Final (Maxed) Designs
I haven't play tested it yet but have a look. 133k/h green circuits. If you replace one of the fast inserter per copper cable assembler with a stack inserter it goes up to 143k/h green circuits. That is less than 1% off from the full 40/s limit of the output belt, very impressive. H4sIAAAAAAAA/8VZ7...

1) Yes, requires both stack boni for non stack inserters and is highly unstable. Even slight disturbances can drop production down to 2.3k/min. http://i.imgur.com/arrLXNE.png 2) Inserters can drop items on the ground and pick up items from the ground, they don't give it directly to the next inserter...

You could do that already in 0.8.8 which is the first version of factorio that I played. It was released on Jan 09, 2014. When did you last check?GeniusIsme wrote:Last time I checked, you can not put efficiency modules into electric furnaces.
