[0.15] Ghost/blueprint query tool if you don't have the item
With 0.15, the query ('q') tool allows us to select a building in the world from our inventory. However, if said item isn't in the inventory, this doesn't work. It would be nice to get the option to get a ghost/blueprint from a building you don't have in your inventory, e.g. by pressing SHIFT-q. Rig...

[0.15] Deconstruction planner for rocks
With 0.15, we have can set the deconstruction planner to destroy trees only. I suggest that rocks would also be included in this mode (and the mode renamed accordingly), because if you want to clear an area of trees, you usually also want rocks to be gone.

I'm glad they removed them. For the only reason that destroying alien bases is so much easier since you don't have to pick up all the artifacts (or live with fields littered with them). They remove some incentive early game to kill bases, though.

I would restart the map until your initial base and resources are relatively tree-free. It really just depends on luck whether you spawn in a dense forest or not. Once you got to oil, use flamethrower or bots.

I like it that the no-logistic-network-phase lasts signficiantly longer. Previously, you only needed 150 or so blue science (easy to get if you know how to rush oil), and then you could use robots to automate everything. Now that step is significantly harder, but you can still use construction bots ...

You have to connect it in the opposite way. The water goes in on the short side, and the steam comes out on the long side.

According to wiki, a blue belt has a throughput of 2400 per minute. A 6 wagon train can already store 12000 ore. So you need 5 parallel blue belts to emulate just one train per minute, which quickly gets out of hand. Sure the initial cost to set up trains is high, but you only need to do that once. ...

I suppose that's working as intended. If you let a hostile player come close to your rail network, why shouldn't he be allowed to mess with it?

Since new players probably want to get some resources with just belts, I don't think this will change in vanilla Factorio. I would recommend FortressCraft Evolved to everyone that would like to play a 3D Factorio. Don't forget that Factorio has quantum compression (that's why you can put wagons into wagons, and make a train carry 1000 refineries), and that's also the reason the player can carry so much.
