Re: Friday Facts #201 - 0.15 Stable, but not really
Would it be possible and feasible to do a sort of lazy loading at game initialization rather than loading everything? Ie: Only load the stuff that the game absolutely can't run without then load stuff such as graphics and audio in a background thread according to importance. (Player graphics being v...

Re: Friday Facts #200 - Plans for 0.16
I always look forward to FFF. It feels like the start of the weekend after a busy week. Finally I can wind down, open a beer, read FFF and enjoy the weekend. One of my favorite parts of the week is the next FFF releasing. Some hybrid, such as coherent noise-based terrain generation with stamps on i...

Re: Friday Facts #196 - Back on track
Basically you want to show the player that a 2:3 ratio of Electronic Circuit Assemblers to Copper Wire Assemblers is efficient in resources, space, and power I think the game could really do with some more info on input and output of a given building. It'd help a lot for figuring out optimal builds...

Re: Friday Facts #195 - Poles re-design
Another vote to keep medium pole with the old slanted design (even though medium pole v2.b isn't bad). I also like the coppery color of the old top. What should be improved is the sze of the old top which always seemed too massive, top-heavy. Same here. I think that one is just too unique to change...

Re: Friday Facts #191 - Gui improvements
I actually very much agree with LemonyFresh here. Unfortunately, this is very much an arbitrary decision the devs need to make. Where one guys says "a", another says "b". There is no one correct way to go about it, because I very much understand Twinsen's opinion, even if I (arb...

I have over 600 hours in Factorio and I like all this suggestions so I guess I'm weird or something. Same here. But then the UI is something I've thought needed a serious overhaul for quite a long time now. I just figured it was something that they'd go back over when everything else was done with ...

Re: Friday Facts #187 - Space science & 0.15 graphics
Personally I feel that they're too small on the minimap. I can barely make out the icons unless I open the map screen. I agree on giving the players an option to resize them though. That'd be useful.Damaskox wrote:1. The item icons in the minimap are too big in size. (Can they be resized by the player?)

Re: Friday Facts #187 - Space science & 0.15 graphics
People asking for an exact time for release on Tuesday... LOL! Would you like that to the nanosecond, or will the nearest microsecond be enough? :D Well since it's a global thing the release date could be any time during Tuesday edging into late Monday for some people or early Wednesday for some. H...

I thought we would be getting an orbital/space platform eventually. From a previous Friday facts https://www.factorio.com/blog/post/fff-74 Is that no longer the plan? I had really had looked forward to this as the picture you guys posted looked so fun. The space Science to me look dull in compariso...

I believe they've mentioned that the minimum yield from fields has been raised which should help some.RobEVO wrote:Has anything happened with oil? It's already a pain. There was mention of making it much richer the farther out you go.

Re: Friday Facts #183 - Aiming for the release date
Laying long tracks down of pipe or belt underground without them is tedious. It'd be pretty convenient if placing pipes and conveyors worked more like placing rails works. With conveyors especially it'd help prevent the ever annoying "bump into another conveyor while trying to lay your line an...

Yup, I'm aware. I had hoped the fact that I was responding to one of the least relevant parts of the post would've made it clear I wasn't actually seriously responding myself.Kane wrote:I'm pretty sure that was a /s post.

Re: Friday Facts #183 - Aiming for the release date
As much as I really want to play 0.15 (and am considering even playing a new run without any mods because of the massive changes) I think you guys shouldn't have to worry so much about the release date stuff. Most of the people who are complaining about it likely have no experience with programming ...

Re: Friday Facts #178 - Minimal mode and Mini-tutorials
The tutorial on the circuit network would be helpful. I have ~150h gametime, still the circuit network is a big mystery. I'd like to second this. (Like 300-400 or so hours here.) The circuit network is the one part of the game I've so far utterly failed to wrap my head around when it seems l...

Re: [MOD 0.12.x, 0.13.x] Flow Control
I've just tested the mod and while doing so I've had a revelation. Suddenly I lost control of my body and a vision appeared in front of me, it was the LUAGod. He told me that instead of separete recipes and items for each pipe, a hot-key controlled function could be used to switch between the diffe...

Re: Fluid Production and Consumption Values
Well. Example from electro-technics: If you multiply Voltage with Ampere (A battery has 1.5 Volts and the lamp needs for example 0.5 Ampere of electron-flow to bring it to glim) you get Ampere-Volt . Nobody would call it Ampere-Volt (or Volt-Ampere, that is the same!), but this is then just a new U...
