After that we can work on solar powered flashlights. They already exist actually. They simply require more light than they produce when turned on. They store said light as energy for use later. I concur with more flexible boilers though. Hot water might be useful for other purposes than just power....

If you really want to waste bots and power, you could just use inserters to fill ports up with bots. That way they would eventually fill completely, and bots would have nowhere to land. A few points: Oil based rocket fuels are in fact solid fuels and not used outside the atmosphere. Any liquid fuels used are in fact Hydrogen and Oxygen used to create water in a combustion process. Personally I'd rather they give the player to build roads which the car will attempt to stick to when given no other orders. The car is very difficult to control I agree. Most of the problem is that to make it relevant you have to make it react far more quickly than the player can.

I wouldn't mind a set of achievements like that as a guideline to the player on what to do. However forcing a player to follow them for unlocked techs I don't agree with. The game violates their rule of you always see everything that's going on at all times already in several places. Underground conveyors must be moused over to see where they lead.
