Re: Can I become a spam-mod please?

What ? I can't imagine you're not interested in buying a new kitchen, or fake university diplomas . Yeah thanks, but my kitchen is just fine, and I don't think I need to add a fake diploma to my real diploma :D I realise this is unlikely to happen, but asking is free ;) Why not? Spam-moder...

Blueprints should go back into book

when deselecting blueprints that were opened from a blueprint book, the blueprints should go back into the blueprint book instead of main inventory.

Can I become a spam-mod please?

I am getting sick and tired of logging in every morning and finding spam posts and being unable to do something about it. I would like to volunteer as a spam-mod with the power to delet posts. I know that would give potential for abuse, but I promise that all I want is to delete those spam posts. I ...

Re: Solar panels less of a no-brainer

It would force you to think how do you prepare to rare unpredictable events. No. I don't see how you can magic-hand-wave away all I have said like that. It would definitely not force me to think - I would simply build more solar panels and accumulators. That is not more challenge, that is not more ...

Re: Tech tree Flaw?

It's not a circular dependency, you don't NEED the t3 assembler to build the refinery. Well obviously the game works as it is, so technically you are correct. However, a game that is all about automating things should not suddenly require you to handcraft something. And therefore, if you disregard ...

Re: Tech tree Flaw?

I think you guys are missing the OPs point - he is well aware that you can hand-craft the refinery.

His point is that the tech-tree should not have circular dependencies like that - and frankly I agree.

Re: Solar panels less of a no-brainer

Of course it would not balance anything but break the easy and boring balance in all production chains. I would like the game in which everything are not fully predictable and exactly balanced with small integer ratios. But how will it add challenge? All it will do is require me to build additional...

Re: A Blueprint Printer - creating multi-purpose factories in a different way

Interesting idea.

How large would the coverage area for the printer be? Or would that be blueprint dependent?

Make it too small, and you can't do much interesting with it, make it too large and the auto-clean will/can get in the way of existing stuff.

Re: [14.3] Unable to "Catch Up" with capable hardware

It doesn't have unit tests, it does have tests. I am curious, what is your distinction? Usually you call something a unit test only if it tests a single function/method - or as wikipedia calls it, tests the application at the level of the smallest possible unit. If you have tests that verify the in...

Re: clock combinator

I don't understand people worrying about power at night/switching to steam engines/turning off things. Just spam the map with solar panels and accus - at any given time my accumulators store enough power to last two-three consecutive nights. Right now I have 40 GJ accumulators (and plenty of panels ...

Re: Come and Guess #3: Stable Version of 0.14

Assuming that the scope for 0.14 stays with the announced multiplayer stuff and doesn't change, I think this should be a very quick one. I guess 0.14.05 at the latest.

Re: [0.13.17] Crash on start with ManjaroLinux

Thanks. From the log output mentioning "alsa" I gather it's related to the sound system. I am using a USB sound card (Scarlet i2i), and I have had trouble getting it working as well as I would like - it seems that the sound card is in a disabled state until some program wants to use it, wh...

Sorry, but you get three separate autosave files. I don't see how you could mess up that badly that all three save files cannot be used.

Re: Logistic robots - do they have a preferred home?

You don't need control. The robots can manage themselves. What you need is good base design where assembly machines can work continously without breaks, enough robots and enough and well placed roboports and a stable raw resource supply. If you design your base correctly so that robots can take the...
