I see two main benefits from the authentication. First there is no one impersonation someone else. Secondly every Player has one unique name so you can setup additional admins etc. easier. To deal with malicious player i would like to see as an administrator more information. For example who started...

The IP the connections originated from is based in Russia...snip.. The easiest way for now is probably blacklisting the IP on your server using iptables/Firewall (edit: might not work if the root itself goes down, contact your provider if this continues). Could be. But it is strange that the <server> would not be counted for the Game-Browser, but for the actual Player-Limit. So you would see a Server with 3/4 Players in the Browser and couldn't join due the Player-Limitation.

Yes, sadly a Griefer was on an ruined our game play quiet a bit. I saved the game before he really got started, dunno if anything is missing thought.
