Why does LAN require internet connection?
First thing I was faced with when trying to host a LAN match without an active internet connection today was a nice error message "cannot connect to authentication server". Alright then, perhaps this is necessary to verify user idendity so I checked that off and it worked. However, it does...

Re: If you could walk on pipes in Factorio, would you build less underground pipes?
Of course. I already suggested this in another topic. Being able to walk over/under pipe (perhaps with a neat little animation) would make me definitely use regular pipes more often. They just look better.

Re: Overriding inserter stack size via circuit network
I use it to keep the Kovarex enrichment process running. A simple wire to a chest and your inserter only takes the excess of 40 U-235 out of your cycle... unless of course stack size is a dick and makes it take 2-3 at once dropping you down to 39 or 38. This is where overriding stack size comes into...

Pavements, while you're already working on HD
Can you include a small tweak into your pavements visual rework? (Concrete already looks awesome btw). Placing bricks, conrete, danagerzone concrete on the ground should remove all plants, stumps, reeds, grass, craters, scorch marks etc. Okay, scorch marks and bodies may be added on top of existing ...

Re: Tank flamethrower - why doesn't it set things on fire?
I tested the new personal laser defense in combination with the tank. It is absolutely INSANE. You should definitely give it a try!
Static discharger is next.

Re: Tank flamethrower - why doesn't it set things on fire?
I'm super excited about the acid cannon idea. I just know you're gonna nail the aesthetics! It would be just change of flamethrower effect to something else, different icon and different ammo, no extra visuals on the tank itself. Just my luck :P However, you are still planning a HD version, aren't ...

Re: Tank flamethrower - why doesn't it set things on fire?
PS any chance of adding modular armor to vanilla tanks? I'm sure wearing and using your own modular armor while driving the tank is still a thing. It wasn't all that great before but they buffed the shit out of discharger and personal laser defense and all these gimmicks should still work while ins...

Re: Tank flamethrower - why doesn't it set things on fire?
It was last minute addition. Intention was to give tank some short range AoE to roast group chasing you or clear your way in a forrest. We reused flamethrower effect and ammo and called it flamethrower, even though mechanics of it are different. We will change that in future. I am thinking somethin...

[0.15] We need a way to destroy blue prints!
With the new blue print book menu we can create an infinite amount of blue prints, books and deconstruction planners out of thin air. But what if I want to get rid of a blue print? I mean the obvious exploitive / abusive potential aside just clicking a menu button because you're thinking about maybe...

Re: Getting rid of alien artifacts is a bad idea
Alien science packs didn't add anything to the game - neither the warfare part nor the science automation part. I'm really surprised by the amount of people who supposedly grabbed their guns to go hunt some artifacts on a regular basis. The way I played, I always had WAY too many of them without eve...

Don't forget the player model!
Standing next to a splitter or assembler I feel ugly AF. It's like my character is being blurried to spare the kids.
We definitely need a HD player model!
PS:
Holy shit those science pack recipes are through the roof. Looks like I need a base 3 times my usual size just to get the research going...

[Suggestion] New map
Allow us to pan the new map camera by moving the mouse against window borders.
Just seems like the natural way to control the camera in view to me, because it's so RTS like.

Cheesus freakin crust. It's like you're releasing a standalone expansion pack / sequel at this point. I was gonna ask you if you could a release a "Last XP compatible version" branch to steam (Age of Empires 2 HD has something similar) that people like me can use when they're occasionally ...

Re: Why use concrete?
I use grey and hazard concrete to make my production plants structured. I have walking paths, production cells, bus lines, train platforms etc. It is mostly aesthetic, of course, but I like that my end game high tech factory looks like high tech factory and not some low tech assemblers put on groun...

I realize this is late but for what it's worth here is my input on the subject and I REALLY hope you read and consider it! It's pretty important. The current night vision may look somewhat unpleasant but whatever you did to it in that last picture is far worse than that. It makes me outright sick! T...

Re: Friday Facts #181 - Calm before the storm
I just want to let you know how absolutely beastly that new pump design is. It's one of those designs which can give you a hard time remembering which side fluid goes in and which side it comes out but the aesthetics are spot on. Super excited to see them in action, especially since I hope those flu...

Re: Smart rotation for belts and blue prints
While this would be convenient there are some mechanics that make this not feasible currently. Things like not being able to control what side of the belt a inserter drops things on out of a station would lead to balancing issues and having to make a separate version for each direction anyway. Also...
