I really like these designs, so much easier if you can change a curve/straight into a juntcion without changing anything. How well does the station designs work with vanilla? Would they work even without the mod? I might take your blueprints and remove the LTN parts, so I don´t want to ruin anything.

Train have probably always had some kind of ID, and now we can use it.
I don´t think it would be such a huge step to name the trains and/or change the id it send out.

I feel that most of the items is useful for a long period in the game, and most of the early-game item you remove/upgrade can be either used in an other recipe (assembler 1, stone furnaces) or be burnt (wooden items). Unloading barrels will be much easier in 0.15 when you can read the trains contents. The only step is: Unload the full barrels from the and fill it up until to the desired amount. No weird and complicated designs required. Loading can be the usual "wait until barrels are more than X" and/o...

Yeah, but if you have enough items in your train it would cycle through them. It´s 5 at a same time, but when an item is supplied it would be removed from the filter.

You only need 1 or 2 assemblers to fill the oil barrels at any given time of the oil field life span, only exception is maybe the first hours. But why do you need an signal for missing items?
You can see that when you hover the mouse over the triangle warning/notification. Both the stuff an the amounts are listed there.

Are you sure that it´s not possible to get a negative number right now? I remember an old save with a smart furnace, and I had negative numbers at one point. Could be a result of my combinator setup, but I´m not sure and the save is deleted. EDIT: Roboport does output negative numbers right now, but...

Wow, what a wonderful design. Since I have water pump mod myself I`m thinking of doing something similar in the future, right now I have a large coastline to get my water supply from.

Instead of the time limit they could have a low HP, and not be able to be repaired.
Maybe 20 HP, enough to be killed by a medium spitter?
