Re: Logistic Provider Chest with minimum level
I somehow found these problems you mention a fun challenge to overcome with vanilla tools. The server I'm playing on currently has RSO mining outposts far away, and a zoo near the main facility (read: a walled off bug-nest). Outposts of course have separate roboports, and the same train that loads o...

I like this idea. For reasons.

That looks like an interesting topic. While Kath doesn't seem to present her argument too well ( automated defences is endgame? That's the very first thing you automate with a hard enough bug-setting ), you have to admit to see where she's coming from. The main focus of the game at this point is bui...

Color Coding mod was used to improve the visuals, but will work with vanilla concrete / stone tiles too. BP not included, as it isn't too hard to recreate. Have to credit Provet ...

Re: Cosmetics, Designs, Decorations - How to make a mod?
You know there's a Modding Help subforum, with a pinned post from a nice dev who explains the process in a youtube video? I listened to it, and it's clear and easy - especially since you want less or no functionality to your objects.

Re: Multi digit numeric display with lamps
It works by using a const combinator emitting "magic numbers" which are the decimal representations of two's complement numbers: I thoroughly read your whole description multiple times, and didn't understand a word of it. Well of course besides ' number ' and ' magic '. But I already knew...

Re: My second factory (lots of coal) (very lengthy)
I feel there's a really simple solution to your problem that many of us could pinpoint if we were walking in your factory. Sadly, the image here is pretty small, and can't follow it even with the lengthy description of what's happening. But I wouldn't put something on a belt that doesn't really belo...

Re: A couple of tips
It's fun to decode google translate. (playing alone is fun, but it's boring; busy with other programs for online games is not fun). I believe he means that currently Hamachi or similar programs are the most user-firendly methods of finding multiplayer servers. Though I doubt it's the most painless w...

Re: Driving the vehicle
Only if mouse steering was an option you had to select in the settings. I hate the thought of having to use a mouse to steer. Has to second this. Even if I disregard the uses of the cursor while driving, the current controls felt spot on for me - I was a perfect driver the second I first tried a ve...

Today I just discovered...
Since I play Factorio, I discover a new mechanic every day that makes my life easier. Some of these are pretty obvious, others I would never have figured out if someone doesn't point my attention to it, or does it infront of me. Now I could just list all my findings, but where's the fun in that? So ...

Re: Make biters more visible
I also have to agree with sslik a few others here. Realistically, a species doesn't get to the top of the food chain by being bright and visible. But who cares about realism.. From a gameplay perspective... I feel we have more than enough ways to detect and eradicate aliens, and doing so requires mi...

Have the item in hand, press Z (or whatever you set it in controls).
If you are hovering over a belt, it gets dropped there.

As far as I know, there is no such solution.
Though if someone expressed on a server I play on that he wanted colorblind fixes, I'd bug the host until he installs it. We, multiplayer-addicts should stick together.

Re: Looking to play and learn with others
Hint: Add your timezone and/or general area you reside in to the post. Due to the P2P nature of Factorio multiplayer, if one player is far from the server, everyone will lag. Surely some nice guys might contact you to directly figure out your locality, but you could save some keystrokes for people l...
