Re: 90 degree 4-belt merge

Revised 5x8. No bottlenecks, no splitters feeding underground belts, perfect split, and one noteworthy improvement from the previously posted 5x8 splitter; you don't need to offset your entire belt line by 1 block. https://i.gyazo.com/490ebfa098fb21347c906f52536251ea.png I attempted the 6x6. no matt...

Re: Perfect Division Belt-Fed Storage Facility

I'm surprised how Everyone in this thread managed to COMPLETELY miss the point i was making. As i said, and allow me to repeat myself and make it clear, Belt-Fed storage facility that can Receive any amount of material, regardless of compression, and still Output with 100% Compressed Blue Belts unti...

Re: [Latest ver][Pending] Visual Bug with blueprint previewd

This screenshot gave me idea of passthru tubes for several assembly machine / chemical plants recipies. This way you may stack them together very tightly having long rows of of assemblies fed by just one incoming tube :) Problem is the blueprint suggests there's an output on the assembler, but ther...

Re: Perfect Division Belt-Fed Storage Facility

This has the same problem as my original design; The chests at the edges aren't evenly filled, which means if the input belt drops below max capacity, so does the output. Have you tested it? Are you aware that the circuit guarantees a balanced load in the chests? I don't see an input belt used in y...

Re: Perfect Division Belt-Fed Storage Facility

Use your original design (top picture), and use this circuit (not by me, Neotix made it): https://forums.factorio.com/23125 (this is a very simple and elegant circuit, you only need two combinators for the entire setup) This will distribute the input evenly among the bottom row of chests (they need...

Perfect Division Belt-Fed Storage Facility

So, i'm trying to figure out how to perfectly split a max-compression express belt into a perfect load balanced storage facility, which can then unload perfectly onto a max-compression express belt. This is my original design: https://i.gyazo.com/eec5f09cef26a998d6ab7ae8ee9d445e.png But as you can s...

Re: Extreme Mining :)

To maximize mining speed you want to maximize miner density. Zig-zag belts waste space (and are slower!), and so do power lines. In your example, for every 36 squares of miner there are 7 squares of conveyor and 1 square of power, so you've covered 82% of the ground with miners. Here's a layout tha...

Effectively Fighting Pollution

This seems to be a very effective way to fight the spread of pollution. Also deals with the problem of, once you destroy a nest it no longer eats the pollution so it spreads further to even larger nests. Only seems to work with spitter nests as the biters can spawn in the spaces next to the spawner ...

Automated bot refiller for outposts

Took me a bit, but i've made a thing with combinators that periodically counts and re-fills the bots in the system. Very useful for outposts as they only need a limited number of bots and one roboport. Although it means there's no bots for about 30 seconds, i don't see that as really a problem. http...

Re: Mining Robots

I don't like it.

Mostly because this can be achieved with existing mechanics; just output a drill into an active provider chests and use logistics bots.

Drills running too slow? Add some level 3 speed modules.

More icons to blueprint icon setup

Hey, would like additional blueprint icons to better figure out what a blueprint is or does. This gets especially difficult when working with combinatiors, as there is no real way to describe them with the limited input. Maybe if we could give them names or something that would be even better. In pa...

Decorative Blocks

I don't think this has been suggested yet, but i would really like something to spruce up my factory. Only having one style of flooring (concrete), and literally nothing in the way of decoration aside from lights. I would use the stone floors, but that slows down the character and is still a bland g...
