Re: Wood

I don't use steam power so my wood is powering trains ^^ Well, actually I'm playing Bob's Mods right now so I have something of a shortage of wood =s It depends on the maps. There is one map with too much coal, so I use no solar but only steam engines, I even refuse to use electric furnaces, becaus...

This is just a company with the same name. And as they are in different businesses there is no problem with name rights.

Re: Wood

That is quiet a good idea. At the moment I am doing this, with wood. http://i.imgur.com/mmqlKcj.png In another map, I use this with requester chests. Thinking about it, there come more ideas: Wood walls, if you have lack of stone. bridges, boats, platforms that could increase your shooting range and...

Re: Science and creation

As long as there will not be the patch for endless research, the research is fast enough with 3/3/6. Even with this I have research breaks where I am just building and not caring about the tech tree. But thanks for the link. I thought of programming something similar. Today I will work on some desig...

Re: Friday Facts #164 - Nuclear power

So the big problem the incredibly careless player now has to suffer is not their base missing after a nuke happened, but a massive wave of incoming biters to their newly blacked out base with a reactor that is basically an immovable slag pile and a cloud of pollution that won't be going anywhere fo...

Re: Different Research Status

No it is not. There is only one research "window" and what you set there is for all players. Maybe later if the game becomes more competitive, it could work.

Science and creation

Hi, I am planning to find the "perfect" science setup. So I can build it once and use it again and again. Therefore I made an excel sheet, to calculate some stuff. Some may say "Nice work", others would say "You need a life". :D No matter what, my sheet is based on the ...

Re: Friday Facts #164 - Nuclear power

YES! In Chernobyl (Ukraine/USSR) it was a stress test with disabled safety systems (no circuits)) to find out how much power can reactor gain at the very maximum. Aftermath is well-known all over the world. False....power plants do not explode, they have a melt down. A nuclear bomb requires a preci...

For 3 green AND 3 red assemblers I use belts (input): iron plates copper plates assembler: 1 iron gear 1 copper cable 1 green circuit 1 belt 1 inserter Try to build it :D Edit: Of course I mean: Try to build it compact I tried it myself now and also did some experimenting. http://i.imgur.com/K0Sf6o...

Re: Friday Facts #164 - Nuclear power

They say that haters gonna hate. Well... tastes are subjective (especially the complaint about the theme)... so I wouldn't outright say that he/she is a hater. That said some things like the lack of endgame have been already acknowledged by the devs but they won't have the time to fix that issue be...

Re: Have Some Questions Before I Buy.

I don't think the learning curve is very steep at all, at least to get to the point where you can mass produce things. It sort of gradually works you up to the more complex objects you need to create but any given thing never needs more than 4 objects to be built. Those objects might need other obj...

Re: Friday Facts #164 - Nuclear power

Hi, i totally agree with the support of everyone here that something new is added to the game, but I am very dissapointed that it is again some retro-thingy. Remember the scenario: SPACE, FUTURE! Someone mentioned Thorium and Fusion, which imo is definetly better. In the end development as it stand...

Re: Let's see your clever builds

That's a good, original idea. You may, however, like to consider using small pumps (which can also be wired to a circuit network), connecting them to the tanks and using them to allow/disallow either the raw material (Light/Heavy oil) or water (bearing in mind that cutting off either resource will ...

Re: Let's see your clever builds

I am not sure, how clever and smart this really is, but I had the idea and wanted to show it to you. Here I am wiring the storage tank to switch chemical plants on and off that crack oil to the next level. I use it for both heavy to light and light to petroleum cracking. Unfortunately you cannot wir...

Re: City Blocks instead of Main Bus

There's no question the main bus concept has flaws, a lot of them tbh, but the problem with this is it's completely unworkable with an initial belt based setup. It puts you on the clock for getting to bots. To be fair all your really doing here is harping on the "bots are superior" line o...

As a good first measure against those big worms, use poison capsules.
