Re: RoRo vs Terminus (was Loop vs 2-headed train network)

I have a little problem with the Terminus style. I always plan my outposts with an extra shuttle station. The shuttle trains are always with one loc. That is why they need a RoRo station, otherwise they are stuck at stations and I cannot call them to where I want them. One solution could be, that I ...

Re: My guide to "There is no spoon"

Thanks for the guide D0SBoots - I just got the achievement. I adapted your guide into a checklist with some rough timings that I could stick to: https://goo.gl/mfykLU I decided that this would be easier then trying to stick to a fixed factory plan, but meant I was slower than your estimates in gett...

Re: What is your favorite part of the game, and why?

Hard to say which one is my favourite, there are many party, just like the experimenting and then it works :D But I remember one of my first moments that really were cool. I built my first assembling machine and while I was watching it all work, I had it selected and the sound was like industrial mu...

Maybe the devs find a way to use more of the gpu. Better then to let a field lie fallow.

Oh yea I didn't know that! But the base is destroyed now. How do you prevent that, Oh Smartone?
Well, I am doing a savegame, before I quit my server. And when it is destroyed, I upload it again. If not, fine.

Re: RoRo vs Terminus (was Loop vs 2-headed train network)

I studied architecture and urban planning for several years and Manhatten style is still the most efficient in my opinion if you are bound to have a square/rectangular grid. During my study years I also designed a city concept with a hexagonal pattern with self-sustaining tiles to decrease overall ...

Re: Friday Facts #160 - Playtesting

Play don't starve . The item stacking is fair, expected, and not too hard. say you have a stack of 5 items with 100% health - 500 / 500 (5) you add one with 49% - 549 / 600 (6) you add another with 49% - 598 / 700 (7) ... so the average health of the whole stack is 85% note that you aren't losing a...

Re: How aggresive are bites supposed to be?

I would like to see another variety of Biters and Spiters: The Hive-queen. They move slower than other Aliens, but are mobile hives that can also seed the area with nests. They deal huge damage (maybe also ranged) Basically I would like to see them as siegeweapons that brake through your walls of s...

Drive manually and follow the route stopping at every signal. Usually your problem is, because the signals are not put on the right side of the track, so look at that, too.

Re: Friday Facts #164 - Nuclear power

Fair enough. I'm more worried about them being so explosion-prone that they are a permanently very high-maintenance option in a game basically all about making things low-maintenance for yourself. In which case, why bother when coal and solid fuel is always a great low-maintenance option for massiv...

If 100% of your power comes from Steam, then Electric furnaces actually use twice as much Coal as Steel furnaces because Boilers are 50% efficient in converting Fuel energy into electric energy. The main benefit to Electric furnaces is that they have two module slots allowing you to exploit module ...
