Re: Is bitter pathing always been so broken when aggroing tons?

i see... 'train' isn't a Verb so therefore the confusion. It kinda is. With the meaning of forming a "train" of biters. I don't believe that you will find that definition in any dictionary. You do - it is MMORPG slang. It also is used for some sexual practice. So, sorry, you do find it in...

Re: 0.13 Count Perfect Chest Item Count

It does hurt now if you plan to fill up for example a supply chest via the new filter mechanism. Old way: One chest and smart inserter per good. New way: One inserter using a filter condition. SADLY - it may get stuck. Same situation as old way: Loading trains with filter on what they can load. Yes,...

Yes. Try downloading bob at the moment - painful. But not bad for a first iteration - I hope a lot more work happens there.

Re: Version 0.13.6

I don't think that it is "quite" broken. This picture shows it pretty well to me: The map in the middle (the .12 one) looks extremely boring and unrealistic to me, while the outer map (.13) looks much more realisitc, especially regarding the water generation. Therefore I do not think you ...

It is not pessimism, it is realism. This is how you develop software - go for low hanging fruits first.

I Just wish they fix landscape generation - then I move to 0.13

Hardly. There are still some big things out - breaking point for me for example is the terrain generation.

Re: Version 0.13.2

And news/Planning on the terrain generation? I pretty much will try to stay away from .13 until the terrain generation is more sensible. Right now I seem to be unable to get anything resembling a sane terrain setup - biomes always are tiny and look like someone on LSD dreams of painting. Which means...

Re: Thoughts on 0.13 Terrain Generation

I opened about a dozen new games just to validate that and seriously, the new terrain looks like splattered paint. Whatever biomes they put up - they are TINY. Water mini-lakes that make working around them a pain, but are not large enough to be meaningfull.

BIG step backward.

Have you considered showing us the configuration? There is this thing called a "screenshot".

Re: Version 0.13.1

Little tip:

Do NOT Make me go to settings for experimetnal updates .... if the update is of the same minor release (0.13) and the current installed one is also experimental ;) Given that I update from 0.13.0 experimetnal it should offer 0.13.1 experimental without settings change.

Re: Version 0.13.0

found the posting by floodo1 overall to be true to the bone. The vanilla map generation was way better in 0.12 - it would be wise by the developers to recognize that simple truth and go back to the previous version. Have to agree. Waiting for more stability and bobs mod I tried to start half a doze...

Would it be a good idea if they would stream the release like a some kind of event? So the most interested audience would know what is going on and just more connected to the team? I'm sure that I miss a lot of thing that should consider with that idea, but sounds interesting option to me with a sh...

F5 race starts here. I guess it's true, the website feels kinda slow right now xD Anyway i expect the release to happen later, probably this evening/night I would not expect that - but coming to the office they likely will see whether anything new happened the weekend (unless they did a code freeze...

I really thought is was Friday today omg. It would be great in future to release updates on Friday so that people have whole weekend to enjoy it. Great as in "utterly ridiculously stupid"? Sure. The problem is that when a bug appears then there is a whole weekend where the current version...

Re: Game FPS at End game

Making Factorio multi-threaded would shatter the current performance limitations in a huge way. Multi-threading isn't an easy task. You can parallelize tasks for an array of objects (i.e.: game update) but you have to lock the objects which should be to changed. Locking objects will cause blocking ...

Re: Request: Small light with no electricity.

Can we have it not being a light and just being a small blob that is visible in the night? Not sure how this is done in bob's mod (which I use) - but there is a ressource called liquid fuel. Plastic containers with it emit a nice glow on a belt. Lights them up and the immediate vicinity (talk of som...
