Re: Stations & other LTN based designs

would like to have some opinion on depot design. So far i build huge depots like on the first screenshot. But they need space and a lot of materials. Then i had the idea for a different approach. Screenshot 2 shows my first design with 2 depot stations, screenshot 3 the current one with 4. This way ...

Re: Friday Facts #323 - Animated water

good thing first animation didn't made it in the game :D that one looks horrible.

But the rest is fine. Won't see it much later... my wife doesn't like water in the game, too much building disruption for her :D

if you want to talk about lag.... remove all the heat pipe and check this crazy design someone did: https://www.reddit.com/r/factorio/comments/9bj5se/55gw_ups_optimized_reactor/ https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/439059619961110528/484699467858182157/blueprint.png yeah, it's a nightmare to place...

9/25/20 is a good goal .... go away witch with this unholy numbers..... 25.09.2020 !! Czech company, useful numbers :P But yeah, i second the request for a paid DLC... your one of the only companies i ask for a paid DLC. Good companies need the support and the steady income to continue what they do.

Re: Friday Facts #320 - Color correction

i like the new map colours, look great. The ingame, hmmm... a bit too much i think. Then again, my monitor is not set correct as it is the secondary. Maybe you should post a link to a good calibration tool as well, so everyone can set up their monitors correct? :D Otherwise you never know if the com...

Re: Lategame mining options are lacking

i think i didn't miss a post to read, if i did, sorry^^ Someone mentioned the AAI vehicle, which are for vanilla too complicated and better left in the mod . But what about some kind of miners like in C&C or Dune ? You build a drop-off building on/near the ore patch which can either put stuff on...

i have to say, the "non collision biters" look and behave waaay better then the old one. And final a challenge, as the can attack as big group not one by one. :D

Re: Friday Facts #314 - 0.17 stable

WoW is really a good example for the thin line between "dumbing down stuff" and "making life easier" and "annoy player with boring repetitive shit". And with all games that you play for a loooong time, you notice that your own play style changes. I played WoW for 13 yea...

Re: Friday Facts #309 - Controversial opinions

want to give my opinion: Inserters: don't care much, i'm not the guy that calculates the output to the item, more the slap-more-stuff-down-don't-care-of-overproduction , so inserter chasing items is something i can live with. Blueprints: blueprints itself are awsome. Don't want to spend hours in eve...

Yes, curved rails are wider in 0.17.
so intended? Shame, have to change all the blueprints. Ah well, let's get started :D

Thanks for the fast answer.

Re: Simple Questions and Short Answers

was there a change in 0.17 compared to 0.16 for curved rails (how wide they are) ?

Blueprints that worked in 0.16 don't work in 0.17 anymore as the curve uses 1 tile extra (yes, i just started with 0.17, search didn't gave answer).

TL;DR: the card networks have a lot of power. And it's unlikely Wube (or even a huge banding together of merchants) could do anything about it. They need sales, and customers like using VISA, MasterCard, etc. https://www.nytimes.com/2003/05/13/business/company-sues-mastercard-over-fees-for-online-s...

Re: Friday Facts #303 - Under 100 bugs (but still not stable)

As most people have the game already, this advice might not help much: Buy the game in the factorio shop and if possible don't connect it to steam. If you buy the game on Steam, steam gets up to 30% of the price as rev share. 30% for little effort on their side. Ok, marketing and visibility are high...

Wait, you can remove trees/rocks while building rails?
Yes you can, with robots if you click shift+the arrow to build ghosts, like with any other building.

I like the icons with the 3 gears. Fits to Factorio... if not all gears are in correct place, it won't work. :D

shouldn't be the QA and bug reproduction be happening but a different department and you get only the final reproduction steps? :D or don't you have a QA department yet? As someone that works in the gaming industry i know the pain with QA (my wife is QA for our games) and the RTL /non-latin language...

Re: Friday Facts #278 - The new quickbar

looking through all comments, i didn't see the question....

Do we get extra Inventory slots after the removal of the old quickbar ? At the moment the toolbelt acts as additional inventory. The removal would be a "nerf" to the inventory space.

Re: From Player To Player (Theocrafting, Builds, Blueprints, Tips, Workarounds)

has anyone a nice, UPS friendly energy setup? 10GW+ ? xD And a way to feed it, without using up all the 10GW again? Alone the transmutation with beacon uses atm 6GW for me. So at the moment no beacons. current energy consumption: 10.6GW 2,4k steam turbine (classic) in 2x 5.5 GW UPS friendly Nuclear....
