Re: Friday Facts #129 - The late game

Barrels interface between pipes and belts etc. Something that tankers simply can't do. Do pipes & belts really have to have interface between? I mean, you will never be able to send, say, gears though pipes - why should you send liquids though belts then? Or another example: you can't send elec...

Re: Friday Facts #128 - Back down to earth

the loader can be implemented and interesting. But I would see mainly it as a train unloader In fact, this is the main "against". Because it breaks devs' creed "general > specialized", i.e. the whole spirit of Factorio is making complex system from simple elements, and highly sp...

Re: Friday Facts #129 - The late game

some kind of mechanic which works similar to the logistic network where robo ports get CONNECTED. Mines could also work with such a connction mechanic so that several mines combine their AOE ... mining drill complex gets empty all at once. Mining bots? : ) Or caterpillar mining crawlers, like in go...

Re: Friday Facts #129 - The late game

I would also propose 'hardcore difficulty' where tech costs scale with every tech researched so with 20 technologies, 21st would cost 20 times more than normal. Very nice resource sink and additional challenge for, well, hardcore players. +1! Maybe x2 is too much for first time, considering how man...

Re: Friday Facts #129 - The late game

Very good new, despite many of the changes aren't for 0.13 - but in this case we are getting kinda cliffhanger - something to wait for : ) Resourse distribution tweak is very good - was expecting this for quite long, considering how many players use mods for this - but I'm vanilla player, so just ha...

Re: Suggestion :: Voting

Doh! :oops: Exactly :) Usually votings age quite common on forums if they exist, and I just haven't seen voting at this forum - in fact, I'm quite new here, as it's seen at my posts quantity. Also it seems at some sections it is impossible to create voting. Also I didn't know it's proper name is &qu...

Suggestion :: Voting

After releasing Factorio on Steam, number of users increased dramatically. It is obviously very good, but has it's little downside. Last week's FFF discussion have gathered 300+ comments in less than a week, and quite many posts were quite the same - "like"/"dislike". It is under...

Re: Friday Facts #128 - Back down to earth

if you think it will be very limited and devs(and others) think that it will be useful - why vote no for something that others will find useful? And whats so wrong with replacing the old solution - thats the topic that I see repeated here all over again. I must admit, loaders would really make a bi...

Re: Friday Facts #128 - Back down to earth

Loader vote: NO Because, as it is said millions times before - it replaces old solution. More of it, old working and ballanced solution. Also gating it under some high-level techs will break factory into pre-loader and post-loader chunks, because of changing working setup is too bothering. Also load...

Re: Friday Facts #126 - Steam Status II and Trains Stuff

There's really no need for trains on game completion... all the resources we needed... were available within belt distance. You know funny thing... BELTS are not necessary as well to complete the game. "WTF?" - may you think - but you indeed can finish game using only inserters to transpo...

Re: Friday Facts #125 - Achievements

Usually every forest has some kind of end.. and it is your decision to set a big forest on fire No, no, no, I meant mechanics that allow to make "careful" burning - say, at healthy forest you could make a bit firing here and there just to clear some small areas - fire will spread, but wil...

Re: Friday Facts #125 - Achievements

Really cool! First of all, yes, some achievements simply have to be challenging . Here's simple example from my experience: I've achieved "real deal" in L4D2 in SP (with 3 dumb bots on my side) - after over 60 deaths. And when I told this to one "experienced" L4D player - he didn...

Re: Accumulator charge graph

I think it would be most effective to have some type of visual indicator on the accumulator itself. Just like how liquid pipes and tanks show their storage, accumulators should show their energy in a similar manner. No, I meant monitoring history dynamics. You can tap any powerpole and see accumula...

Re: Friday Facts #122 - Better circuit network (Part 1)

Many people have asked for logic combinators, bit combinators, timers, etc. Come on! All these functions can be made using units we have already! Logic: set of logic units, that check every rule used, and outputs, say, signal A=1. Next unit depends on logic operator: "AND" is "={conn...

Accumulator charge graph

Intending additional power storage graph can help a lot in balancing solar-oriented power system. Especially it'll help to say how more consumption can afford your current power supply.

This was suggested by someone else two years ago, but it isn't in game yet. Would be great to have this.
