Yeah since you have the problem with the information gap between the data and the control stage it wont be an easy solution. Only way I can think of at the moment is to have dummy entities which you can define from config in data stage and then read from in control stage.

You can see from the first picture that there is a stack of 50 coal in the boiler, also withouth coal it would show the flashing symbol for "no fuel". I guess he wasn't so far as to automate fuel/energy production, which also wasn't the issue here.

Personal roboport only provides a construction area, not a logistics area. You can tell them apart by their colour: the construction area is greenish, the logistics area is orange. This. That there is a need/desire for changes or variation to the generation, mining and processing of the ores is not the question I think, cause there are enough mods out there which implement such things. Also I wouldn't be working on such a mod if it would suffice what I have in mind, but they should...

As far as I know the upgrade = true will only hide upgrades for another tech, so lvl 1 of that tech is always visible, but not the successive upgrades. Upgraded techs are marked by the number suffix in their name, in your example the "-2".

There are several mods out there that let you choose what you want: -Endless resources mod turns everything into infinite ore patches -Train outpost mod does something similar and spaces the resources to accommodate train usage -Bob ores mod has an infinite option (best with RSO) -Deep Ores mod does...
