Re: An idea to significantly extend the endgame

Having communication with the outside world makes sense. But the market is a problem. Rocket launches are expensive (because they are). Transporting large quantities of goods via rockets is not feasible. Maybe rare resources like diamonds would be possible but you have to have rockets beforehand as ...

You can start the big rocket to win the game. I wouldn't call this "no endgame". The space station is another game in itself.

Re: Add version 12.10 to experimental builds?

It's being told that the steam release will use 12.23. I'm guessing that following 12.xx-versions are only minor bugfixes and backwards compatible with mods. So bring your mods up to 12.22/23 and they will be supported for a long time. Since 12.10 a lot has been happening and it makes no sense to su...

Re: Why isnt there a setting for changing default UPS?

That's still all calculation stuff, for double speed they move twice as fast. items on belts move twice as far, etc. Well, it sounds possible, I want to point out, that the game is then not the same anymore. What I mean is: The game-physic changes more or less significantly. For example: Before: It...

Re: Technical Errors - Graphical Glitches

Corrupting files is highly improbable. More likely it is a graphics driver problem. Did you manually install a graphics driver? Then update it to the latest version from the maker and see if it goes away. If it doesn't, you should post some information about your system, especially the type of the g...

Not so random resources and enemies

I did not find my idea and think this suggestion is different from the RSO mod and not yet mentioned in the World Generation thread ( https://forums.factorio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=80&t=13022 ). Problem: Currently, the resources and enemies are generated rather randomly. A bit too random for ...

Terrain types

Currently, it looks as if the terrain types are only water and land. On land there are different colors/textures but you can build everything everywhere. Why: When you have no constraints (as in infinite resources, infinite space), you eventually end up with one model of an ideal factory. This chang...

Re: Minimum and Maximum setting for requester chests

I don't think this change would improve the overall throughput of the network. When a chest requests 1 item, the bots bring as many items as they can carry. So if you request 100 items, you sometimes end up with 104 items in the chest. Having the hysteresis between min/max levels would not generally...

Maybe it should look more like this :D
Yes, yes, it should look like your solid beam. And the range should be pretty far.

The current laser turrets should be called plasma turrets then.

Re: Limit robot throughput per chest

Bots are really power hungry things, plus, they don't perform as well at large distance. So belts and inserters are really good for conserving energy. Currently, Energy is not really a problem. Just build more solar panels and batteries. Therefore I would exclude this problem. Trains perform well a...

Limit robot throughput per chest

In my opinion every item should have its unique place in the game. Robots provide great flexibility for low throughput items, building and repairing stuff and I really like using them for that. What bothers me now is that robots are too overpowered in my opinion. After you have a lot of power and re...

Re: Bot Exclusion Zones

problem is that they then need pathing which is already a significant cost for biters. I concur on this one. In a typical game there are a gazillion tiles on the ground but only so many roboports per network. So yes, the cost is higher but I'd guess it's still pretty limited. With delaunay triangul...
