Re: Construction robots deconstructing trees
Another good use of the red (blue)print is reclining walls after attacking a nest. I also done it where I added repair packs before taking on a nest, sadly, the bots do get hit... Why can they not just fly higher in the air :P Walls?? no way, just go in with a few hundred turrets and wipe em out be...

Re: Question on Gas flow…
I don't really see the value in tanks at all yet...I've made my first 9.1 factory with no tanks at all, just pipes and let the oil flow as it may

Re: Module Usage Priority
I've always gone with full effectivity modules, but with 9.0 and oil shortages (can't seem to find enough spots to drill!) I'm very tempted to load up all oil industry production with productivity to make the oil count as much as possible

heh heh I like that this has people thinking! I've no good ideas on the third one yet, but people definitely got the first two fast!

Re: Construction robots deconstructing trees
haha yeah forests no longer suck so hard with construction bots. Not only do they clear forests super fast, but you even get to use the harvested wood, unlike other methods where the trees are simply destroyed at the cost of valuable ammo.

[Impractical Logic Puzzle] Bending Power to your Will!
OK, so I had a couple of ideas that became puzzles to me. I don't think either of these are something you'd actually want to use in a serious game, but the puzzles were fun to think about, so I thought I would share them here. First puzzle: How do you force steam power on BEFORE solar? The idea is, ...

Re: [0.9.1] Solid fuel/cracking balancing
plus the fact that you HAD to make solid fuel unless you just wasted oil in a steam engine... meant you needed to plan on having stuff that burned solid fuel, leading to a more polluting factory than you might otherwise make. I imagine they'll change the heavy/fuel formula at some point, and it was ...

Re: If you thought tower creeping was dull...
I don't see a problem with this. He's a puny human against alien dogs with armour so thick it can stop piercing machine gun rounds. He's no space marine. Also, having to use turrets and robots keeps with the theme of a man who doesn't have much power himself. His only purpose here is to build the s...

curious...I'd think even if he forgot a storage chest to drop stuff in, they'd still go out and grab the deconstructed items, and just hold them until they found someplace to put it?

Re: Yet another Factorio let's play
pleasant voice :) I'll not likely watch sadly, because I'm looking to find a LP from someone closer to my own level of play, also I prefer to see 0.9.1 or further, since I'm currently playing that version too. Plus I'm already following a couple LPs. Good luck in your LP! Hope you get lots of views :)

Re: If you thought tower creeping was dull...
However, the rapid/instant respawn rate of nest defenders, plagues of worms, and the general feeling that you, the player, should have a hand in their destruction, make most bases unapproachable. Most bases can only be conquered by 'Offensive Towering' and having swarms of bots, especially if there...

Re: If you thought tower creeping was dull...
I've used it, big time :D and lost almost no turrets at all...like I said, when you drop 50 in a batch, nothing much lives long enough to kill a turret, especially when that 50 is backed up by the last 50 you dropped, and maybe the 50 before.... As for "absurd setup"...being able to comple...

Re: If you thought tower creeping was dull...
Big worms outrange lasers, but when you build 50 in 2 seconds, the worms don't stand much chance :} Yeah I just got back from mowing down a few upsized biter bases...especially once you have enough power to continuously fire 100 lasers, you're pretty much unstoppable. I think the only real hurdle is...

If you thought tower creeping was dull...
Tower creeping: Inching in on biter bases using your laser towers. Tedious, dull, mining up old lasers and replanting them, over and over, until finally the biters are dead.... Not the same Tower Creep anymore in 9.1! Try assaulting the biters with laser towers again, but this time, bring a blueprin...

Dude! Where's my train?Duke Nukem wrote:Yes. This would be a great feature. And yes, this would be useful if the trains also had a locator feature. Hopefully, they do this.
