Since "Space Age" is implemented as a mod, and not compatible with vanilla's save, I found that I have to enable/disable mods as needed to concurrently play a game in "Space Age" / continue my sprawling base in Vanilla.

A common workaround is to select all the mods you want, change all the mod settings the way you like them, then create a new map and immediately save, i.e. as "My Modpack A". Then you can use that savegame to sync mods+settings when you want to play that pack. If you adjust the map settings before ...

You can also use the „sync mods with save“ button in the top right corner of the „load game“ menu.

I am hosting several multiplayer game with different combination of mods and it is extremely tedious to remember which mod to enable and to restart the game when I forget one or add one too many.

Agreed, mod profiles would be super useful. Currently can be worked around with by having save-games to synchronize mods and settings with. However, can't the same logic be reused for mod profiles?
