Maybe make it even simpler, for example in telegram you can write ":+1" (without ") and it will let you choose to write along or to select the thumbs up emoji.

... function in singleplayer and multiplayer. Why ? Because it would be a really nice feature to have, just having to hit my pause button on my keyboard when I am returning to the game from another task or when I get something to eat, without having to search the cursor.

Anything is better than what we have now. I like the idea of being able to do it all with the keyboard.

Interestingly, User Interface for "less abled" asks for a total different approach but argues comparably: widen the options of how to change values (interaction with the gui). So broader accessibility might be a thing of future development proposals for consideration. Long story short: +1
