Re: Friday Facts #319 - New T-shirts & Lua event filtering

Hi, will there be a t-shirt with printed factorio base? I remember some time ago you had this big banner https://cdn.factorio.com/assets/img/blog/fff-239-img3.jpg It would be great to have a t-shirt with this huge base printed on it. I would love this too! It would be cool if the artists could come...

Re: Reworking catlysts

I think catalysts don't need degeneration. You always can scale recipe up to integer numbers. But another type of items - —Āonsumables... (https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=64612) Items not involved in the recipe, but used to improve machine. Like modules with limited lifetime. I like ...

Color If Update Available In Mods List

TL;DR The old way of coloring mod names in the "Manage mods" menu made it more convenient to see if all the mods you are using can be updated to the next version. What ? I have a 50+ mod save from .16 and I want to finally upgrade it to the current experimental. Last time I did this, all of the inf...

Death During Tutorial Results In God Mode

After the victory GUI for completing the tutorial you click "continue" and then are shown a lovely shot of the expanding map... I was being attacked by biters when the message popped up (lmao the tutorial was harder than I expected :D ) , and so died while in the "auto zoom and pan." This resulted i...

Re: Version 0.17.3

I'm not colorblind, but "pastel colors" don't help to quickly see at a glance which chest has which function, maybe even less in a real factory with differing and/or no additional lights, at night, etc. the darker "strong colors" in 0.16 were very easy to recognize and tell apart. or is it simply t...

Re: Please Bring Back Chests and Power Poles as Sources of Fuel

I believe that this discussion simply ends in asking for a void chest/"trash can" that one could build out of basic materials that just voids whatever goes into it. This would also solve the problem of too much wood or other nonsense collecting in your logistics storage. It would be similar to how s...

Re: Friday Facts #283 - Prepare to Launch

I'm just gonna drop a +1 for rocket silo touch ups as it should really be a magnificent complex! As I've read more shadows would be nice, spotlight(s) would be epic and to see the rocket slowly rotate as it rises would be simply beautiful!! Maybe a police siren-like red light spinning somewhere as i...

Re: Splitting Robot Alert Icon and flashing icon

Yup, that annoying excess of "no materials" when planning out large blueprints has bothered me for a while. A triangle placed on every belt, wall and tile gets laggy reeeal fast.

Re: Mark manual crafting recipe as not implicitly craftable

Yes but what if you do, for instance, still wish to craft cannon shells in your inventory as well? I'm sure in many instances this idea falls apart, especially when you are producing basic circuits en mass and requesting them to you, and you dont want all of your iron eaten up to craft them in your ...

Radioactive Pixel Art

I wasn't sure if this is technically "Fan art" but here it is. It's from an old .14 modded save, made with MoreFloors' asphalt and yellow concrete. 50 tiles diameter. The blueprint string is in foreman, if anyone is interested. I thought It would be cool since my huge nuclear reactor setup didn't re...

Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)

I am strongly against loaders myself. I only use them in mods for convenience sake, like filling a warehouse straight from a mine until i can set up a train to it. Even then, they simply feel cheaty, as if they magically teleport the items out onto the belts perfectly. Loaders make setups look simpl...

100% down for this. A new type of transport system with it's own quirks and puzzles to solve... :D :D :geek: The jump from using simple belt transport to high tech flying freaking robots was always strange to me. A middle of the road (non-train) transport system would feel more genuine. Anyone who h...

Re: Concrete in 0.16

Personally I love the idea of decorating my factory. Sure, the factory's main purpose is to make things, but it could look good doing it. I'm all for adding several new tiles and things for decoration (I love the More_Floors Mod https://mods.factorio.com/mods/Tone/More_Floors ) I've always been a fa...

*new*[14.23] Can't un-whitelist item in production stats

I am playing a modded game (bob's + Angel's) and realized that after whitelisting stone production, then stopping production for nearly an hour, the stone was removed from the production stats graph. This left all items blacklisted and the graph completely empty. Since the stone was gone, there was ...

Poison Capsules Should Produce Pollution

I was playing around with poison capsules and realized that they can be used for insanely fast, cheap and simple tree removal. 1 Capsule clears a 20 tile diameter hole in a forest in under 30 seconds, with no negative effects. I believe that this is quite unbalanced, as the two more common ways to c...

+1 for pie charts and a reworked Electric Network GUI. I couldn't explain what half of it means, I only understand it through practice. Being able to choose from multiple graphs would be a really nice feature, but at least labeling the axis and just pUTTIN SOME DANG NUMBERS ON THE SCREEN would be qu...

Re: Friday Facts #208 - Tips and tricks improvement

I'm for making the tips tutorials instead. The current system is boring and strange since we have a new better system for teaching the player. Also belt side-inserter interaction isn't a "tip" any more than "pressing R will rotate a building". It's a primary game function, not a cool quirk. The unde...

Re: Is "Lazy Bastard" appropriate?

Here in Canada my trades teacher uses the word bastard to describe the technical term for a very rough file -- a "bastard file". This is in highschool and not one person has ever complained. *shrug* Just saying I couldn't care less. I find it edgy and funny. Besides, I hear much worse words on a reg...
