I’ve found pipetteing tiles to be very annoying, not helpful. I dont add tiles very often, and when I do its in a big chunk, or automatically put under machines with force build.
Because pippette and clear cursor are the same button, I will pippete a crafting machine, then go to an “empty” area to ...

Re: Friday Facts #420 - Fusion Reactor
It would be cool if you added the "risky" mechanics to the fusion reactor. Kinda like overclocking a computer. It works just fine for any normal person when you simply plug it in. But for experienced players they can squeeze out a few hundred megawatts at the risk of destroying the system if done ...

Yes, this isnt Factorio anymore. Its Factorio 2!!!!SnowZyDe wrote: Fri Feb 16, 2024 12:22 pm It seems to me that factorio is a game for building factories and automation. Today's news has nothing to do with that.

Love the inventory sounds.
Reminds me of how our brains are trained to distinguish the sound of pouring hot water and cold water, allowing you to hear temperature.

My biggest issue with these changes is the wording.
Stack inserters move lots (a bulk load) of items, but do not stack items
Bulk inserters do stack items when moving them in bulk.
It seems like the names should be reversed. Bulk inserters are unlocked first, which move more than 1 item at a ...

:D I would DEFINITELY purchase a set of science pack ornaments(and cogs), plastic or glass. Either for hanging or just as awesome paper weight desk toys. Beakers with colored epoxy in them, not too complicated to manufacture. Things from video games brought into the real world are Just. So. Cool! 8 ...

Re: Friday Facts #387 - Swimming in lava
If you have to build multiple bases then it's important to reduce points of repetition between planets so that nothing feels stale. Over time we have consistently tried to simplify and cut excessive things. If something is repetitive but can't be cut, then we can add a new twist or a new shortcut ...

Re: Friday Facts #351 - Beacon re-redesign & Simplified fluid mixing
Though I am really impressed by the effort put into the beacon redesign, I'm still not in love with this one either. In my mind the beacon should mostly be a tower and I find it really odd that it is the only building besides the rocket silo that goes into the ground. I feel like a thin tesla coil ...

Hi, will there be a t-shirt with printed factorio base?
I remember some time ago you had this big banner https://cdn.factorio.com/assets/img/blog/fff-239-img3.jpg
It would be great to have a t-shirt with this huge base printed on it.
I would love this too!
It would be cool if the artists ...

I think catalysts don't need degeneration. You always can scale recipe up to integer numbers.
But another type of items - сonsumables... (https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=64612) Items not involved in the recipe, but used to improve machine. Like modules with limited lifetime.

Color If Update Available In Mods List
TL;DR
The old way of coloring mod names in the "Manage mods" menu made it more convenient to see if all the mods you are using can be updated to the next version.
What ?
I have a 50+ mod save from .16 and I want to finally upgrade it to the current experimental. Last time I did this, all of ...

Re: Version 0.17.3
I'm not colorblind, but "pastel colors" don't help to quickly see at a glance which chest has which function, maybe even less in a real factory with differing and/or no additional lights, at night, etc. the darker "strong colors" in 0.16 were very easy to recognize and tell apart. or is it ...

Re: Please Bring Back Chests and Power Poles as Sources of Fuel
I believe that this discussion simply ends in asking for a void chest/"trash can" that one could build out of basic materials that just voids whatever goes into it. This would also solve the problem of too much wood or other nonsense collecting in your logistics storage. It would be similar to how ...

I'm just gonna drop a +1 for rocket silo touch ups as it should really be a magnificent complex! As I've read more shadows would be nice, spotlight(s) would be epic and to see the rocket slowly rotate as it rises would be simply beautiful!! Maybe a police siren-like red light spinning somewhere as ...

Yup, that annoying excess of "no materials" when planning out large blueprints has bothered me for a while. A triangle placed on every belt, wall and tile gets laggy reeeal fast.

Re: Mark manual crafting recipe as not implicitly craftable
Yes but what if you do, for instance, still wish to craft cannon shells in your inventory as well? I'm sure in many instances this idea falls apart, especially when you are producing basic circuits en mass and requesting them to you, and you dont want all of your iron eaten up to craft them in your ...
