Thanks for the reply valneq. It must have been an errant game loading because when I went back in today to check what you say, there were a bunch of recipes not previously available. I do use FNEI as well, and sure enough it was showing the extra recipes too. I have reloaded the game a few times now...

That is the third level Raw Crystal, so I can make the Raw Crystal Splinter and the Raw Crystal Shard, but not the Raw Crystal without which I cannot make the Bobs Mods processor boards for using in Bobs modules classes 6 through 8. Hello, I've searched for a mod that might be able to help here, but alas, no luck. If there's a mod that'll extend the auto-pickup range (I've tried Long Reach without success) I'd love to hear about it, I've looked through the Mod library and couldn't see anything, but Devs, please, please, please...

In case anyone comes back to this thread later, I found the "Loot Chest" mod. Works perfectly, place the chest down it scans surrounding chunks (out to a fair distance too), and automagically picks up the artefacts. Obviously, not required for the base game - it shows how long since I've p...

Loot Chest is working like a charm, in case anyone comes back to this thread at a later date. It works brilliantly.

Tried QoL research, it had no effect even after researching the player reach research options. I'll try the other suggested mods in turn now as well.

Just tried QoL research, that didn't affect it, so will try the others in turn as well. (Also Long Reach mod doesn't affect it either). Thanks for the replies all though. I've got a thread going in Bobs Mod forum where I'll go through them all.

Once in late game, it takes much longer to run around all over the map picking up the artefacts than it does to actually kill the aliens, because you just about have to run over them, and they're almost indistinguishable from the background.

Ok, I might give that a go.
A shame really, if the auto-pickup range were just a (lot) higher, it wouldn't be an issue, but you just about have to run right over the top of the things.

Really? Wow, well, I use Bob mods, and there's artefacts galore.
That's really disappointing to hear, cause it means there's likely no fix, short of ditching Bobs mods which I wouldn't want to do.

Thanks for the reply orzelek.
I found the problem.
I hadn't defined bobplates as a dependency, so that was overriding my own settings. Also, it seemed to help when I renamed the file from data.lua to data-updates.lua
