Re: [1.1.1] Error When using headless server.

glad you got it fixed. you can also use screen then detach from it. screen -S name_of_your_new_session run your start script/command then Ctrl+a d to detach from it. next time you log in use screen -list to display the screens you have running then screen -r number_of_the_screen to attach to it

Re: I want to play factorio but I lack a goal

another vote for multiplayer for keeping things interesting from me. played the tutorials solo but i bore myself when playing alone. the shared goal of multiplayer (assuming that's how one is playing) keeps me coming back to it.

well done one and all.
i'm relatively new to the show (and wish i'd bought a ticket way earlier) but have already gotten so much enjoyment from it and my factory continues to grow.

Re: [0.18.38] crash updating with --apply-update

on my headless server i just stop the game and overwrite with the files from the updated version of the experimental build (after backing up of course). it has 32GB of RAM though.
maybe try this method if the automatic method is failing.

Re: Friday Facts #356 - Blueprint library for real

it's very good of you to share that (some of your story). we're all different and process and deal with things in separate ways. glad you found your path. i've benefited from factorio daily as an engrossing distraction from various things that are going on. new blueprint stuff looks great. i messed ...

Re: A chance encounter

similar here. i saw a clip of someone live streaming factorio on twitch. i had been playing minecraft for over 3 years weekly with a friend (on the same map). showed factorio to him and he said, amongst other things, it has trains . yes it certainly does...and so much more. we haven't revisited mine...

Re: Running 2 factorio versions

i had the same question a month or so back. as mentioned the .zip version is the way to go.
i have three different 0.18 'installs' all with different versions.
it also helps when you connect to multiplayer servers that utilise differing mods from one another.
