I did exactly the same thing. Apparently it is fairly easy to buy wrong version from web page - the trick was that I did it when I was not logged in.

No response from support in my case yet though

I've been using Netgear NASes for years, newer broke. Probably are not better or worse than others. One good point though: RAID data is accessible from Linux PC if necessary.
