Re: Friday Facts #438 - Space Age wrap up
It sadens me to read that the time of „Friday facts“ may come to an end - your little stories and insights into the game development have a fixed place in my weekly routine now, and it is the most obvious feat. that sets you appart from soooo many other developers where, as a player, you feel like ...

Re: [2.0.6] Big Worms nigh unbeatable
The big worms on Vulcanus are meant to be a tough challenge. But by the time you are building space platforms, you definately should have all prior technology researched. The big worms are also very „territorial“, so as long as you don‘t tuch their territory, they will leave you alone. So you can do ...

You guys are REALLY delivering - So far, I would have happily payed between 5-10 bucks per friday facts feature presented (if available as micro-DLCs) I hope you will charge at least the original 30 bucks for the addon, its so well deserved … I can‘t wait to spend another 5000+ hours into a game of ...

Re: Can there ever be a full 3D rendered Factorio?
I have played both Factorio and Satisfactory a lot (Factorio around 5000 hours), and if you look at the differences, you also see pretty well what the problems are in a 3D world.
Satisfactory is managing to reproduce far more factories and belts in a 3D world then I thought would possible, but at ...

Re: Visualize negated filter inserters
Absolutely amazing idea! The other day, I was looking for the error in a huge multiplayer factory, and only after starting to click through a good 100 inserters manually, I found that one that, for whatever reason, had whitelist instead of blacklist enabled.

Re: Anyone standardizing on very long trains?
For me it makes a huge difference what exactly you are transporting.
For ore to smelter trains, 4-16 or whatever can work well, especially if you design your delivery trains in a waythat they don‘t touch „the inner network“. Personally, I usually stick to 2-8 or 2-8-2 designs in this area, simply ...

What an amazing journey it has been so far - I randomly found this game many years ago, watching livestreams while being in hospital. The first thought Ihad when leaving hospital was „I need to get this thing!“
Since then, I have spent around 5000 hours in it, usually playing it as cooperative ...

Re: Landfill needs a change. 20 Stone for 1 tile? Ridiculous!
What about alternative recipes that allow you to use:
- 10 stone + 10 coal
- 10 stone + 10 iron ore
- 10 stone + 10 copper ore
still realistic, and a good sink for temporary ressource unbalance (too little stone and too much copper?)

Re: How to load 4 blue belts per wagon?
From my experience, having 2 belt per wagon and a buffer chest ist perfectly fine, but for important stations, I use a different setup meanwhile:
- all bufferchests for a single wagon are combined with a decider circuit that asks, if there is exactly enough of the item to fill a complete wagon. If ...

Getting 4K screens is affordable indeed. Getting a good 4k screen is terribly expensive. By good, I mean with relatively accurate colors, high contrast, homogenous brightness, no clouding, good viewing angles, ... The sub 4K market still has a good future awaiting it. I think it would be a bad ...

As the gun turret is your very first base defence, even before you have built electric power, its a balancing thing that they only require the most basic materials for construction.
If you add more complex materials, especially starter players might quickly become overwhelmed by the biters.

Re: [0.16.51] Factorio Ultrawide Monitor support?
I‘m actually using a 2 x 4k monitor setup, and using a single of the screens, everything works like a charm (gfx 980 + i7-7700k) on our multiplayer map (40000 rockets launched, 600 trains moving).
