Hey guys, thanks a lot for the input. I will try to tweak the core first and then go to the heat pipe layout again. I wasn't aware you can use empty reactors as heat pipe... that's an interesting solution.
Further comments appreciated, I will keep you informed on my progress!

long story short... I tweaked the original design I posted in November with a few pumps and a few additional pipes here and there.
Result: constant energy output of 1.9something GW in a 2.05 Design. Fine enough for me.

Hey guys, thanks a lot for the feedback... It may take a while until I come up with a design that includes your suggestions. I'll update this as soon as I can find the time to tinker around with the steam issue.
