I feel dumb asking this but I don't see where to set the station's Network ID.
All I see are Circuit network and logistics network selectors, and neither have a Network ID setting.

I have 2 trains in the depot. I wasn't sure if they should be manual or automatic so I set one of each.
The error implies that demand is generated so I am happy with my network in general. The depot stations have a constant combinator that outputs the "depot" icon to their lights.
