Thanks for this topic! I would have been completely lost without your tip about how to actually build stuff on the platform.
Some of my tips:
1) I was panicking about space...that is, inventory space on the platform...until I realized I could send stuff down to Nauvis whenever I wanted. Sending ...

Re: Friday Facts #314 - 0.17 stable
The more I think about this, the stupider it seems. "When it is harder to find a group, it has also more value when the group is already assembled"? That's false value. These things aren't good because they're inherently good, they're "good" because you had to sink time into them. And why should you ...

Re: Friday Facts #314 - 0.17 stable
Oh yeah, this reminds me of Minecraft Prison servers. People spend hours and hours doing repetitive tasks on those...why? Because when they rank up, they feel an intense sense of accomplishment, and they feel like all the time they spent was worth it.

That landfill graphic is GREAT! I'm suddenly realizing how weird it was that my factory-making-player could just conjure up beautiful grassy meadows.

Re: Friday Facts #303 - Under 100 bugs (but still not stable)
We have been asked a few times when stable will be released, but my question is, why does it matter exactly which version we call stable? Are you waiting for stable to play a new playthrough?

Re: Friday Facts #254 - No research queue for you
So, some objections to the research queue are that when you finish a research, that changes your priorities, you have to figure out what you can build now, you have to reevaluate the situation that you're in and see if you want to change what projects you're building and what you want to research ...

Re: Friday Facts #224 - Bots versus belts
I never use bots. It's such a pain to create all the engines and frames and blueprints and stuff. The one thing I use them for, when I get really late in the game, is to "deconstruct" trees, since chopping them down is so tedious! And yet, somehow watching those trees just vanish seems like cheating ...

Re: Friday Facts #189 - Specifying the 1.0
The reason for it is, that we usually tend to automate mining drill production at this stage anyway as it crafts slowly and is needed in large quantities. The point of the science packs usually is to guide the player to automate things that he should have automated anyway, and this seems like more ...

Who is the player, REALLY?
So the player lands on this alien planet, with only a couple of tools...Then manages to build up industrial infrastructure. The player cuts down trees, mines out resources, destroys the native life.
Not only that, but the player seems to have some sort of an environment suit. They have no trouble ...
