Re: Major Electricity Problem

In your second screenshot the satisfaction bar is full, that means that all power consumers get their demand filled. The production bar is roughly 25 procent that means your power producers are running at a quarter of their maximum performance, remember 70 steam engines * 900 KW = 63 MW at maximum p...

By placing signals at only one side of the track you made one way sections. In this topic ive written a more detailed explanation.

Re: Emergency power with delay (Combinators help)

What you need to implement is a S/R latch, this allows to set condition to turn it on and a condition to turn it off. For example switch on when the accumulator drops below 90% and switch the coal off when accumulator is at 100%. In this topic you can find some tutorials on combinators and an exampl...

Re: Use stored items for further production

Stack limits on a chest only applies to that chest, it doenst apply to other chests with the same item. If you want to have 200 belts no matter in how many chests they are spread, the easiest solution is connecting the inserter that takes the belts from the assembler to the logistic network and set ...

Re: first base, don't know what to do

This game has practically no penalty in rebuilding your factory, so its very feasible to tear down the parts that you dont like and rebuild it or build a new Mk2 factory before tearing down the Mk1 factory. The main disadvantage of resetting in my opinion is that you are back to square 1 and have to...

Re: please help me fix my trains (no path)

Automated trains arent very difficult but it can have steep learning curve when you start fiddling with signals. Signals have two functions, the most obvious is keeping trains from colliding, the second function is setting the drive direction of the block. Trains will only pass signals that are plac...

Then you probably show-rail-segments activated not show-rail-blocks, the latter doesnt show any letters.

Its red, because the block the signal guarding occupied with a train and it doesnt matter where the train is in th...

Re: One tricky chain signal !

The most basic rule of trains in Factorio is that only one train is allowed in a block, which is a section of track separated with signals. Your intersection isnt properly divided into separate blocks and as a train is occupying the intersection block that chain signal doenst allow another train to ...

When you hold your mouse on a storage, requester or provider chest in the bar on the right side of the screen it shows the contents of the chest and below that the sum of all the items of all provider of storage chests within that logistic network.

Re: How to make trains NOT drive THROUGH a station?

Personally i think redesigning is the best way to solve your issue reliable without causing other issues or having downsides. The airlock idea doesnt prevent an iron ore train entering the airlock and thus the station. Another solution is setting the station entry signal to red when the main route i...

Re: How to make trains NOT drive THROUGH a station?

My preferred solution is setting up the stations at my base in such way that trains that doesnt belong there cant path through other stations. A possible solution is creating a waypoint station parallel to the copper ore waiting bays then iron ore trains no longer path through copper ore station. It...

Re: Dynamically Setting Logistics Conditions

First thing is to realize is that a logistics network will handle any demand equally and (currently) you cant set dynamic demand rules in a logistic network. The easiest solution is upgrading production to handle the demand and never worry about prioritizing demand. However if you want to prioritize...

Re: Why won't this train path?

I couldnt see it from the screenshot, but after loading the savegame i found the issue. The station is placed at a invalid location and its "not connected" to the track and the train can find a valid route to it. I moved it one unit down to a green marker and it working fine.

Re: compressed red circuit setup?

Looking good, however i estimated when its run at max production there would be starvation at the red circuit. Ive tried the blueprint and the lowest red circuit assembler gets a just in time delivery of copper wire, its tight but works fine. When you upgrade it to mk3 assemblers or with speed modul...

Personally i would start with removing Factorio and do a fresh install.

If i remember correctly the update is saved in: %AppData%\Factorio\temp. Check that there is nothing weird with that location.

Re: "No Path" Error on Train. Resolved, but don't know why.

The answer to your question is that by placing that one signal you made that section one way. Signals serve two purposes, one is keeping trains from crashing into each other and the other is setting driving directions, a signal at one side of the track tells a automated train this is one way and tra...
