Thanks to everyone. I think the problem im having is that the oil deposits i am drilling are (for some reason) realllyy poor quality

Hand grenades are extremely useful for clearing large forested areas if you don't have poison capsules.

I honestly had no idea pumps even existed (except of course offshore pumps to pump water) that you could make the oil flow run better; that may be the issue.

Relatively-new-to-Factorio me cannot for the life of me comprehend how you manage to firstly need that much production of raw materials and secondly actually fill up 8 blue belts worth xD

I'm not that new to Factorio but in terms of playtime I am (watched a heck of a lot of Arumba before I started playing the game). I have a pretty successful factory going on, main bus layout, lots of iron and copper, but the one thing that seems to be holding me back is oil: - Blue science is slow, ...
