Re: How to get sand casts/glass

Version: 2.1.9 Date: 2020-11-15 Changes: - Added fuel glow colors for the different tiers of uranium fuel cells in the reactor. - Removed sand casting from molten titanium and molten glass. - Added sand casting to glass made from molten glass. ps Didn’t it seem to me? Or did my card get so “unsuccessful"? Is there no ordinary coal on the map? Only unenriched? It's just amazing!
There is no ordinary coal on the map, only Raw Coal. You have to process it to get coal

Re: pY Alien Life - Discussion

( pyanodon is dead right, trying to scale the cocoon based polymerase to any real extent is a fool's errand. Well you need to, because you need quite a bit for a long chain of blue/py science before arthurian eggs open up. I suppose that's a question of what you consider scale and acceptable time. ...

Re: pY Alien Life - Discussion

I wanted to share some sections of the base I've been working on and offer some meandering feedback for the py/chem science part of the game, as this feels like the time when all the Alien Life elements really start flowing into use. A few new mushrooms, several new interesting plants and animals, ...

Re: Rubber for Heavy Oil Refinery

To expand a bit: There's a more efficient recipe for the Transport Belts that pyPH adds. It substitutes rubber for the other materials. The tooltip is inconsistent in which of the two recipes it uses to calculate raw totals.

Re: pY Coal Processing - Discussion

If you're nearly up to Navens, why not feed in Fuel Oil? It's a simple conversion from Oil in a DDC with decent MJ value (0.8MJ). It's lossy relative to full oil processing, but it's simple to process and source; all you need is a few DDCs and a small oil field or some drilling fluid. I'll have a l...

Re: Machines Passing Fluid Through Each Other

Most do not. However, some machines in py's mods do allow fluid pass-through, but those that do are not always clearly marked as such. I know, for instance, that the clay pit and combustion turbines do.

Re: Helmod (non-)issue with Pysuite

Yeah, that's thrown me a few times when planning/playing with Helmod. The Basic Oxygen Furnaces take a burner fuel to run. It's better for Helmod to include the fuel demand when needed and risk some confusion, than not include it and have people refactoring whole setups to include the burner fuel th...

To the contrary, I rather like that the Fawogae is different. It would feel too similar if they all had a loop back.

Re: pY Alien Life - Discussion

A couple of low science level oddities I noticed, that might help expand on someone else's commentary: Bhoddos are unlocked with Automation Science, but the initial Mk 1 craft in the nursery requires Alien Sample (tier 2), which is Logistics science. Given Bhoddos are not used for anything before Lo...

Re: pY Coal Processing - Discussion

I'll admit it's been several updates since I last ran into this, but I used a Tailings pond to vent excess steam from power houses for a while before I got cooling towers and BOY was that a mistake for the pollution it generated. Have you tried turning on the Show Pollution Values and seeing if the ...

Re: [MOD 0.17+] Industrial Revolution (0.99.x)

That didn't take long. You can't easily use a recipe description because if you set a localised description for a recipe, it replaces any info about the properties of the main product of the recipe. So no fuel values, no pollution modifiers, etc. etc. You have to recreate all of that. I already bru...

I wanted to say first that I've been watching and waiting for this mod since I first saw it way back when you just finished assemblers. It's everything I'd hoped for back then and more. Very smooth experience so far. That said, I ran into this today and It got me thinking: https://i.imgur.com/1T6CBM...

Re: Soil Extractor MK4 is effectively slower than MK3...

I suppose the question is: what's the point of module slots in Pyanodon's mods? IMO, since many of the recipes aren't flagged for productivity modules, and efficiency is barely used since power is so inexpensive, this leaves speed modules. So module slots are an option to use more power to have fewe...

Re: pY Coal Processing - Discussion

In the current version, this 60℃ Steam cannot be used for electric generating, so can only be used to cool down to water by Cooling Towers, or, by a more convenient way, vantilated by the Tailing Ponds.. However, a sufficient and as free resource in game, is the water: you don't even need electrici...

Re: pY Petroleum Handling

The oil burner takes in water and a burnable fluid to generate steam. The rate of fluid burned depends on the fluid's fuel value. A few examples from my current factory: Coal Gas is 400kJ, Refined Syngas is 500kJ, Gasoline is 1.0 MJ. I haven't worked out the exact math for it, though, as I just use ...

Re: pY Raw Ores Discussion

I don't have much experience at that level in Py's Mods, but it seems a bit odd that the direct sintering from high grade is less efficient. Might be fixable with a buff to the Sinter -> Molten and a reduction to the Reduced -> Sintered ratios Each reduced makes 2 sintered. I was a bit distracted t...

Re: pY Raw Ores Discussion

Seems like the easiest way to get this grade 2 -> plate chain more in line with the rest without harshly impacting the other chains would be something similar to the recipe multiplication done on some of the other chains to balance out the effectiveness of the hot air recipes. If the Casting Machine...
