The First Steps and New Hope campaigns were replaced by the Introduction campaign in 0.17, available from the Start campaign menu.

Encountered the same issue in 0.17.36, it reproduces after loading attached "_autosave-leave". I played for quite a while before finding out the scenario was not supposed to have 'freeplay' after the evacuation.

Maybe related, maybe not, I also received below lua error message after dying to biters ...
