-1. I'm completely with the devs and mod opinion. It's only a QoL Laziness option for a good routing of items. I know it could help in exchanging the fuel to the new fuel type, but it has to many side problems you need to define and make it a complicated thing.

You could place a lamp next to the train and connect it via circuit to have the same color as the signal it's repeating. So it will be easily identifyable as "User Pre Signal" ;-). If you really really want it :)

As Developer i would say that it is possible to have the same UI or atleast to make same identical. BUT!!!! we are in the process of rewriting GUI's, and especially the BP Section will get a rewrite (as far as i understood the timeline). Therefore why should i make those nearly identical windows ide...

i hated it when the items in 0.16 got added and removed automatically. And i really like it to have my quickbar set up sorted. I have one for rails, one for energy, one for oil, etc etc etc.

The new one is really the way i want it to behave ;) really really like it the new way.

you could use a comparator in front of your lamp to filter out only the yellow color.

I prefer it the way it is now, because it is really helpful in a lot of cases to overwrite the color

I think i will really enjoy playing your Mod. And in my opinion it is a false definition that furnaces simply burn without selecting a recipe. I liked it the way it was. If you are unattended and not carefully enough you die. When you die you are dead and everything ends.
In Factorio it doesn't end, but you either start to setup the character again, or you have luck and find the corpse. For me it's pretty fair the way it is right now.

couldn't you set the Combinators to the item and the Value to negative what you want. Then the items you have on storage would be added to that Value. If ITEM < 0 the amount of items missing (YELLOW) if ITEM >= 0 stop production, more or equal items you need. (GREEN) if ITEM = Combinator, no item on...
