Hi, would you be willing to reupload the save one more time? I have on older cpu - 4690K, but I have OC to 4.4Ghz and I'm curious to see what effect on performance it would have. I will probably build a new megabase and I'm thinking about new PC so I would really love to know. Also since I ...

Re: [.17.49] location of the achievement file
Thank you very much, this was quite helpful, although it seems that my question was perfectly searchable on the forums, I just did not put the best keywords.

[.17.49] location of the achievement file
I apologize if this is not the inteded subforum for my question, but
So I wanted to copy %appdata%/factorio folder to my laptop to play the game exactly where I left it on my desktop. All the mods settings blueprints, and save files were ok. But I didnt see the achievments files, specifically the ...

Re: Peace with Aliens
Maybe a bit of randomness and distraction from perfectionism isnt a bad thing. For me it provides a welcome change of thoughts from excessive building when I go kill some biter nests around the pollution cloud perimeter. But I mostly play with expansion disabled.

Re: Self-Contained 0.17 1K SPM Base
When I built 1K spm factory, I had problems with the ore train traffic as well, but I managed to deal with this problem with more train lines in place between iron ore mining and iron and steel processing, so in the end it worked anyway.
However processing ore at mining site would seem to reduce the ...

Re: Compact 4.8 GW Nuclear Reactor
The good news for everyone: Now that 0.17 is out, I will spend some more time refining the design, adding roboports, etc. So expect a new version of the reactor in the near future.
That would be really great! I tried loading the blueprint, but got an error, maybe due to 0.17?
My current base ...

Re: Self-Contained 0.17 1K SPM Base
So far I have never bothered to use concrete except for walking paths, but I always kind of admire people who do bother with that, because at least the pictures look much cooler then :)

Re: Worth it or not?
Campaign mission are like produce x items, so you set up production and maybe you get little bored while waiting for the items to be produced, however in freeplay you make your own goals and when you finish one thing there is immediately something else to work on, or if you produce something too ...

Re: Later science should be much harder to process
The idea may be interesting but:
- To produce 90 science per minute, which find decently sized base takes up 8.4 of tier 3 assemblers for yellow and purple science and 14.4 assemblers for blue science

Re: Peace with Aliens
So I just read last 3 pages of this topic and it seems there are lot of people interested in some peace with aliens, there is of course the peaceful mode and there are lot of map options (which I use) like reducing biter nests sizes and their frequency and slowing the evolution to make biters less ...

Re: Just bought the game; What were Your first impressions?
This was more then a year ago, but I remember specifically, that I started new game and I was like, hit I-key, why doesnt it open the inventory (used from other games) tried some things, didnt work, how do I control this game? Tried some random keys... This is hard. I looked up controls in the menu ...

[0.17.34] vanilla 1K SPM Base
So I finally did it, my first base on [0.17.experimental] and it is actually 1050 (actual megabase) + 90 (intitial regular base) = over 1.1K SPM what I consider to be casual megabase. So at the beginning I thought that I read somewhere it has to be at least 10 rocket per minute to be actually a ...

Re: [0.17] What settings will make biters equivalent to 0.16?
So I cant tell you how to make biters to be 0.16 like, but since I like to play on "biters easy" settings I can share what I have been playing so far on latest experimental 0.17 version and I got to the 1K spm stage pretty much without concerns about biters:

Re: There's a bug in the train's parking
I just wanted to post this exact thing as a bug as well. Though I understand that add something like stacker priority for leaving trains is not actually easy to do through game design.
Also I realized through some experimenting that any changes made to the train while in stacker make it actually go ...

Re: Compact 4.8 GW Nuclear Reactor
First of all thanks for a great and interesting blueprint, I personally was inspired to try very similar nuclear setup with the goal to improve to the desired theoretical 4.8GW but I only managed to get 1 GW per side without prebuffering in tanks and without breaking the shape too much. To manage to ...
