Re: Friday Facts #371 - Apple Silicon

Stupid question maybe (Mac newb), can you have multiple standalone installations on mac?
There is a dmg file, which lets you install factorio the usual way, but is the a zip version for mac?

You could just duplicate the factorio application and launch both copies of the app, however they will ...

Re: [0.18.25][mac] Crash setting up freeplay game, graphics related

I don't normally play on this machine. So, I don't know if this is new or not. My regular machine is off being used by someone else for about 10 days, so I broke out the ancient backup to have a computer to use. Figured I would try Factorio. Was actually surprised it worked at all. The work you ...

Re: [0.18.25] Crash setting up freeplay game, graphics related

Out of 10 crashes, 2 of them were just the map setting screen open, had not touched anything yet.
Other times I changed different settings, and most of the time, I could move on to the game itself.
So, I don't think my initial steps are relevant to the underlying bug.

It seems like 25% of the time, it will crash in the settings pane, regardless of whether you change anything or not.

Re: 1.9k Space Science???

No clue why the production graph is "wrong", but it's never been perfectly precise.
As for the "one bottle missing" that's probably the research rounding bug: https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?t=58383
If you have a brownout during research some tiny fraction of the bottles is lost.

Re: 1.9k Space Science???

It doesn't show in the screen clip, but the time frame is ALL.

The reason I noticed is I have a technology which is at 99% complete, just needs 1 or 2 more science to finish. I went to check to see which science pack I was out of, and all the rest are good, except space.

Re: [0.17.5x] Mac OS Catalina autoupdate fail.

Settings is it. They didn't cary over to the new OS.
Many thanks to all the smart guys in your world :)

Even with auto check off, I would have expected an explicit check to show the available update.
This was taken after 0.17.65 was available.

[0.17.5x] Mac OS Catalina autoupdate fail.

Autoupdate does find any update, says I have the current version, on my MacBook pro running Mac OS 10.15 (beta) Catalina.
The same hardware booted into 10.14 finds the update and updates successfully.

Note: not sure exactly which updates this affected since this machine gets booted onto both OSs ...

Re: [0.17.54] Version numbers not in sync

I agree it's minor, compared to all the other stuff you all are doing.

The information is located in the file:
Factorio -> Contents -> Info.plist

My guess is that the auto update mechanism does not update this file.

[posila] [0.17.53] Mac right <ctl> key not recognized by train GUI

On a mac, the left and right modifier keys are distinguishable. In most cases this makes little difference.
However, in the case of the train GUI, when trying to select a temporary station for a train to path to, the left <ctl> key works, and the right <ctl> key does not.
