Thanks for your post, I feel less alone. Also, "Immersion", a word I haven't thought about, is important for a campaign in my opinion. I felt that was present in the old tutorial, not in the new one. If you got the patience, you can read that: https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=22...

I got similars expectations. But it looks like the introduction scenario was made to introduce the player to the future campaign, not to introduce the player for freeplay. I wonder if we had no expectations at all, how would we had perceived this game, would it looks like a good game? That's hard to...

Finally, I know there's been a great deal of effort put into not having a "tutorial" but I think that's a mistake - a tutorial is a safe place for a player to learn under any timeline, whereas gameplay is not.

There is no shame in having a tutorial,
I could not agree more with this.
