Re: "Cannot reach" on 2/3rds of the public servers with more than one person in it
A server lists as unreachable if it doesn't reply to the ping request. As in: the packet never makes it to the Factorio process on the computer. The firewall on the receiving end most likely is blocking it due to the server not being setup with proper port forwarding.
So, is Steam is ...

Re: "Cannot reach" on 2/3rds of the public servers with more than one person in it
On top of that, today I tried to connect to an online game but the game doesn't show up on the list for me, alphabetically or with filtering. I know the game is up, because I'm watching people I know play on it on Twitch right now. So clearly something is going wrong there. I don't know if ...

Re: "Cannot reach" on 2/3rds of the public servers with more than one person in it
I figure that a few might not know that they had to do port forwarding, but it also applies to games with people in it (other than the host) and ones that are clearly meant to be public.
Okay so now someone is telling me this could be from not using Steam while the server/host is using Steam ...

Re: "Cannot reach" on 2/3rds of the public servers with more than one person in it
Okay I am convinced these problems are related. I am looking at the servers list (with it filtered to the name of the game) and today the game listing keeps disappearing and reappearing. The ping says cannot reach. I'm going to try joining once my mods sync but I doubt it'll work based on previous ...

Re: "Cannot reach" on 2/3rds of the public servers with more than one person in it
IDK if it's frowned upon to "+1" but I am having the same issue. A lot of the servers I've tried have the "cannot reach" message for the ping. [EDIT] I have been having this problem since I started playing multiplayer again, which was either right before or right after switching to 1.0

Re: [0.18.47] Holding Deconstruction Planner or Upgrade Planner from Blueprint Library does not show robot network indic
Here are some screenshots demonstrating (the first post didn't like the filenames)
The one with the ghost is in my inventory, but the one with the tree is in my blueprint library. There's also this visual discrepancy in the size of the two icons.

[0.18.47] Holding Deconstruction Planner or Upgrade Planner from Blueprint Library does not show robot network indicator
When holding a blueprint and pointing at the ground, the ground is colored orange and green to show the extent of nearby robot networks. This also works for deconstruction planners and upgrade planners, but doesn't work when those items are "hotbar links" to an item in the blueprint library.

Re: [0.17] Gardrek's Mall v4.2.3
Excellent point. I had come up with that idea myself (and actually I use wooden chests for the same purpose, although they are more for not upgrading). I decided against it because the only other chest type I wanted to use (besides the Irons being upgraded to Passive Providers) was Buffer Chests ...

[0.17] Gardrek's Mall v4.2.3
Inspired by KatherineOfSky's mall, I decided to make my own. As you can probably guess by the version number, it took quite a lot of redesigning before I was happy enough to share here.[1] A mall like this builds basically everything a player needs that can be supplied by one machine. The idea is ...

Re: [0.17.11] Vehicles and Radars show garbage graphics when zoomed out
The mouseover text suggests that the video memory usage setting affects the behavior of the "texture streaming" setting. Do you get the corruption with texture streaming off and video memory < all? On an integrated GPU, texture streaming off is probably the correct choice anyhow, since there's no ...

That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the troubleshooting help. Wish I had reported this bug sooner.

Re: [0.17.11] Vehicles and Radars show garbage graphics when zoomed out
Changing it to "All" seems to have fixed the problem. I really thought I had already tried that.
EDIT: Might be the combination of this and setting the texture atlas size up to 8192 instead of 4096

Re: [0.17.11] Vehicles and Radars show garbage graphics when zoomed out
I just tried it, and yes! Changing "video memory usage" in graphics settings to "low" makes similar garbage also show for substations, roboports, and infinity chests, but not large power poles.
EDIT: loading another save I can see it affecting other things like assemblers, and trees

[posila] [0.17.11] Vehicles and Radars show garbage graphics when zoomed out
Since updating to 0.17 all vehicles, radars, and some other graphics (see below) have shown garbage graphics when zoomed out far enough. Below is a link to a video of this in action. I am using an AMD A6-5400K APU with integrated Radeon HD Graphics on Linux, and I am using the stand-alone release ...
