Re: Friday Facts #433 - Liftoff Initiated

ok, this might be highly heretical, even for me but hear me out. Factorio is part of the Warhammer 40k universe! you, the engineer, are basically a stranded adeptus mechanicus, your assembly machines are technically STC's. you don't "research" directly, you just unlock the knowledge to build ...

Re: Friday Facts #429 - Vulcanus Demolisher Enemies

In terms of killing these enemies, was anyone else's first thought sacrificial nuclear reactors?

Build and fuel reactors in enemies path.
Wait.
Enjoy the fireworks.

The resulting nuclear explosions will hit many segments of the demolisher's body and should do enormous damage.

I really ...

Re: Friday Facts #401 - New terrain, new planet

Finally some love for alien worldbuilding!

I can already see new tactical applications on the horizon... It would be so nice, if terrain gets even more attention. Like giving (small) range bonuses to buildings (artillery  ) on cliffs over things below (also: grenades hurled over the edge ...

Re: Friday Facts #400 - Chart search and Pins

On the subject of map pins and such, I am reminded of a often ignored "feature" in Victoria 2. It would let you draw little arrows and text on the map and they could be visible to players you shared it with. You could even save and load different plans. Now, the arrows themselves did absolutely ...

Re: Friday Facts #399 - Trash to Treasure

Here's my unrealistic guess:

Every planet has their limitations, Nauvis is ridden with biters, Vulcanus has lava pits and some hints at similarly unhappy natives. But who or what is on Fulgora to stop you?

The precursor aliens fought a war, and they were losing. The enemy had disabled their ...

Re: Friday Facts #394 - Assembler flipping and circuit control

While the circuit feature for assemblers is lovely, it is not intended for the scenario you describe. That is largely covered by remote view . You don't need circuits, you can just click on an assembler on a different planet and tell it to build something different, and then you can tell its ...

Re: Friday Facts #394 - Assembler flipping and circuit control

I don't think people are giving enough love to the assembler circuit control feature, imagine this:
you are on vulcanus (am I spelling that right? I cant remember) you just unlocked the big mining drill there and you want to use it on nauvis (love that name btw, so fitting), with a setup like the ...
