Re: Version 0.17.9

.... I dont say telekom or the transit betwen EU -> US is NOT the problem. I dont know. I dont care. :? ... All that i am saying is that, when you take in to consideration that others are not having speed problems from those endpoints. Your specific connection might very well BE the actual problem....

Re: Version 0.17.9

The error is at the side of factorio, their CDN provider. I'm in the US. Factorio's CDN routed me to a Linode in England. So I tried again from a Linode in the US. Factorio's CDN routed me to a Linode in Germany. Further research shows a round-robin between: Frankfurt, Germany Leeds, England Los An...

Re: [0.17.1] Map preview, random seed stops working after importing exchange string

Can confirm this is still the case with 0.17.7

However, it will start working again IF you change the default/railworld/etc dropdown to something else from the default "default".

This is however slightly annoying when you are using custom settings.

IMHO bumping/breaking would be less weird...
(Also teaches the player that you usually want to leave some space to move around...)
There's plenty of space to move around, he just happens to think he should be right where my stuff is for no good reason.
Obviously, he knows best ;)

Re: Friday Facts #284 - 0.17 experimental

What rational justification is there for someone else to spend their time and energy doing what you want? This is an alpha game in development, and this campaign is specifically out here wanting input. I've no idea why you are so utterly, implacably hostile to this concept, but I'm just gonna let y...

(sidenote: It is quite pleasant to see a distinct lack of "you are stupid" etc comments in the debate on this)
I think we all inherently realise that everyone is just trying to make a great game better.
It is still a pleasant surprise :) This being the internet and all :)

Re: Friday Facts #284 - 0.17 experimental

Agreed, but you have to ask why they want things changed, or you're equally guilty. (Not accusing. Just observing. Generic-you, not personal-you. Damn English and its imprecise second-person pronouns.) When someone has something they want, but they can't tell you why, it doesn't mean they have no r...

Re: Friday Facts #284 - 0.17 experimental

I keep asking you that, and you keep demanding a justification for not doing the thing you want. Well, because someone would have to do it. Why should someone do it? What rational justification is there for someone else to spend their time and energy doing what you want? And i would like to add som...

Re: Friday Facts #283 - Prepare to Launch

Gotta say, I'm not happy about the belt nerf at all. I know, I know, "it's not a belt nerf, it's a biter fix." Semantics. Fact is, there are fun designs for belt-based defenses on factorioprints that won't be viable anymore come 0.17. Just like when you floated the idea of removing bots f...

This is all looking great. Can you please release it by next Friday so we can play it over the weekend? Just want to mention that 0.16 came out 1 year and 2 months ago "https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=54538" "Version 0.16.0 Unread post by FactorioBot Β» Wed Dec 13,...

Re: Friday Facts #282 - 0.17 in sight

So for 0.17, the water 'frequency' and 'size' sliders are being replaced with 'scale' and 'coverage', which do the same thing, but in a hopefully more obvious way. Larger scale means larger land features, while more coverage means more of the map covered in water. "Larger scale means larger la...
