Equip a rocket launcher and load a nuclear warhead into it. Caution: do not aim at feet.

Re: Niggles and nitpicking - player preferences

I have to build based on city blocks.

I can't do anything remotely except mine.

Ratios must be balanced (Helmod is a godsend).

Everything (after rails are used) has to be designed and blueprinted in a separate game, to maximise use of a city block.

Any suggestions on how this could be accomplished with liquids? I'm playing a Bob's playthrough, so lots of non-vanilla items.
I just figured out partly how to do this. Instead of [item=…] you need to put [fluid=…]. You still can't drag and drop the fluid to figure out what it is, though.

Re: How to insert icons in station names without crystal ball?

For items that you can craft I found a workaround: 1. put the item in your hand 2. open a chat line (^) 3. click at the chat line to insert an icon for the item 4. select the text and copy it with ctrl-c 5. close the chat line 6. open the train stop and click rename 7. paste with ctrl-v to get the ...

Now that you've made a gear game, when will you fix the icon for the assembling machine 3? Those 3 interlocked gears can't rotate!

Re: Roboport Functionality

My later game technique is to have one roboport set with a filter inserter to remove all construction bots from the roboport and put them in an active provider chest, and an inserter (wired to the roboport for robot statistics) to insert logistic bots when demand arrises, then have a second that rem...

Re: Train fuel load system

yeah, but delivering anything to a lot of different locations is kind of the point of LTN, isnt it? It is also making sure (if setup right, with the tresholds, which is my favorite part of LTN) its not running a train for like 5 fuel rods That late into the game, where you have alot of depots, you ...

Re: Train fuel load system

afaik, FTS and LTN do not work together that might have changed, however if you have LTN anyway, FTS would be kinda pointless, as LTN controlled trains HAVE TO come back to a depot and you could easily refuel there. Adding a refuel depot to LTN via another mod can work (if they dont conflict), but ...

Re: Can I control multiple stations with one combinator?

Been a few months, but I think if you use the LTN combinator and LTN Tracker, you can adjust things remotely through the UI. You can do that, but you have to make sure that you go through every station and assign the values correctly there. Right now all my trains are LCCCL configuration, but I hav...

Re: Can I control multiple stations with one combinator?

Could you feed the LTN station output back into the stockpile so it treats the requested items as already there before queuing up another load? You can, and absolutely should do that. The problem lies as follows. Let's say you have 5 stations, all wired to a single combinator, and all the stockpile...

In theory you can configure the mod to only mark certain ores, but I doubt that restarting the game just for that is worth it... could be an extended version of this mod ?
If it could be done on the fly, that would be quite handy, and exactly what I was originally looking for.

Re: Train fuel load system

https://mods.factorio.com/mod/FuelTrainStop Automatic Train Fuel Stop mod. This will do it all for you. One (or multiple, if you like) centrally filled fuel station that trains will go path to when low on fuel. If combined with LTN, you can use a bit of a hack to use LTN train configuration signals...

Re: Can I control multiple stations with one combinator?

Please elaborate, I'm familiar but not well experienced with the circuit network, I mostly do the basic stuff like turning pumps on/off when tanks get full and such. I understand diodes in electronics but how is it implemented in factorio? A diode is setup in Factorio by using an arithmetic combina...

Re: Ore Locator

And with lotses of orses , make a mod do it for you ! https://mods.factorio.com/mod/ResourceLabelsContinued That looks like a good start. Re: Can I control multiple stations with one combinator?

You should be able to wire all of them to a single combinator. The problem would be that they would all be requesting the same items, and if you had significant resources available you would likely have multiple deliveries simultaneously, causing overstocking of items. You also may want to isolate t...

Ore Locator

Does anyone know of a mod that can highlight specific ores on the map?

I'm playing a Bob's play through, and of course, that means there are a tonne lots of ores. Some times it is difficult to find the specific one I need.

You aren't. When I started using the new planners I totally tried putting them in my library, fully expecting it to work.
I tried that too. I'm still disappointed that I have to use a slot just to have a rocks and trees only deconstruction planner.

Does anyone know if there is a way to synchronize research between save games? I would love to be able to ensure that I don't accidentally have access...

Re: Friday Facts #314 - 0.17 stable

I think the belt "planner" would be a good idea....mostly. The only thing I think it should do, though, is place regular belts - no underground - and place them as close to a straight line from A to B as possible with a grid (Any intersecting objects marks that belt as invalid. Do not "path" around...
