Hmmm... I would solve the multi-threading differently - by making an entities graph with the relationships between them (what can affect what, reversed edges directions) and processing the leaves first in parallel, propagating the results to parents and removing them, then recursion... This will ...

Actually scratch that, switching from xrandr to opengl 3.1 in desktop effects made everything fine too ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

For me the only thing that worked (SuSE 13.2, Nvidia 210 proprietary, x64) is running it in `xinit -- :1`, kde was running in another virtual screen just fine.
Actually it works pretty much amazing on the max settings :)
I think the issue isn't with Xorg...
P.S. Switching screens kinda kills it ...

Switching screen crashes the game
Version 0.10.12 (10773)
Pulling out or inserting the HDMI cable crashes the game (reproducable every time), nothing in the logs.
Reproducible every time...
Nvidia GTX880.
