Re: Friday Facts #419 - Display Panel & Inserter pickup fixes
What's with the displays being so tiny ? Why can't I have a giant display, a stadium-sized display? Yes, the largest ever CRT (according to Wikipedia) is only 43", but maybe it could be made with the ultra low resolution using individual bulbs which in my memory seems to have been typical of gi...

Re: Friday Facts #413 - Gleba
I kept looking at the post over and over the whole weekend and I've come up to some personal conclusions: That seems unnecessarily harsh. I'm sure it'll turn out great. There does seem to be quite a bit of work left to do, and we know Wube are perfectionists. I was hoping for an Autumn release (nor...

Re: Lag in Big Sur
This is a super necro but this thread feels very relevant to my current issue and I was wondering if anyone got to the bottom of this issue or if it improved? I'm going to make a new post with details, but I'm starting a new factory on the latest 1.1.x and my FPS is stuttery and feels awful around t...

Re: Friday Facts #388 - Smaller things for 2.0
I wonder why you didn't go one step further with visualizing the max belt range. While hovering in the range of the matched underground belt, display BOTH max range (blue) and selected range if the belt was placed where hovering (green). See the image. With what you have now you still have the prob...

Re: [0.18.45] Energy weapons damage and Laser turret shooting speed don't say they affect personal laser defense
Your post is very timely, as I JUST started launching rockets and getting space science yesterday (many, many hours into my first base!) and I was confused by this as I was selecting infinite research options. Thanks for confirming that personal laser is affected by the research, because I don't use...

Upgrading to .18.45 from 0.17-stable throws an error
I enabled experimental updates and when to the about screen and clicked on "check updates." Below is a screenshot of the about info and the error message. I'm also attaching a log file.

Re: Friday Facts #359 - Crash site: The beginning
there is mod called squeak through that allows walking between most entities, i use it for most of my modded games, some mods are incompatible. ideally the devs could make it so that most entities hit box was slightly smaller to allow this functionality natively. imo walking through the small space...

Maybe at minimum the size and brightness of the indicator light could be increased? It's not easy to see.

Re: Blueprint Library Feedback
What if, as a small design tweak, the devs made the following change: Assume a BP is in inventory and currently linked on the hotbar. When a player moves the BP from inventory to the library, what if the game automatically deletes the hotbar link? To me, silently updating the hotbar link that once ...

Re: Load Game in Background
If this isn't feasible I'd at least like the ability to alt-tab out of the game during the load screen. Right now the game seems to be stuck full screen until the loading completes, and Factorio takes a surprisingly long time to load for a 2D game, even on an SSD. Interestingly, Factorio always loa...

Might be an engine limitation or similar that prevents this, but if feasible it would be a nice addition.

I've read this whole thread hoping it would shed insight into the whole global reference new feature, and I'm just as confused as before. Can anyone point me to an ELI5 description of how it's supposed to work?

Re: Pressing escape while in a blueprint should bring you up one layer.
I like there being a shortcut to go up a level. Personally, I would prefer "U" (if not already taken), as it's the shortcut to go up a level in Gmail and many email programs. Alternatively, ESC could exit out of the library screen completely, or perhaps have some other function (such as im...

Re: Blueprint Library Feedback
1. I can create a blueprint and it's in my hotbar/inventory. I then place it in the My Blueprints for overall storage. It appears to copy the blueprint there. I no longer want it in my inventory (because of limited space), so I delete it. The blueprint vanishes from the Blueprint Library! Is one su...

Re: Blueprint Library Feedback
Maybe you shouldn't be allowed to delete things directly from the quickbar at all. And the game could force you to go through the library menu for that. But other people may consider that inconvenient I think this could be a reasonable safeguard. Blueprints stored in one's library should be hard to...

Covid is not a relatively deadly flu, but it's not your fault the prevailing religious narrative has decided overreacting to it is the "moral" thing to do. There's an opportunity for you to learn more about this disease and not to be dismissive of it. Comment should be deleted as off-topi...
