Re: pY Alien Life - Discussion

I know Py's is supposed to be slow but I'm just making sure I'm not missing some concept that I could be taking advantage of. I'm at about 25 hours and still on red science, though slowly all the parts to green science are coming together. I just got aug's so I can finally get manure to automate ci...

Re: pY Alien Life - Discussion

All good cheers. Will have to play around on the weekend. Is that the only world-gen that matters? I can find the "delete empty chunks" mod and do that to encourage new ores around my base that works too. but you may still need "change map settings" mod since I am not sure will the new ore spawn un...

Re: pY Alien Life - Discussion

I'm 250hrs into a 0.16-0.17 pymods run. Am I able to update to 0.18 and add this? Or is that going to be a mess? thats exactly wt i did to my 500 hours base. its not really a big mess when compared to building your base again from scratch. of course a part of your factory will break, but thats most...

"LTN is necessary"

Laughs in 800 trains, no LTN, no logistics bots, 250hrs Production science finished.
yes i know there are many superhuman out there that can do crazy stuff. not using LTN in pY is like playing factorio with one hand, thats possible but i would still call LTN necessary

Re: pY Alien Life - Discussion

Yup I fell for that trap too, it looks like every animal unlocked at red science, except auogs and the cocoon things, requires sample 2. Feels like it should be sample 1 as that still requires auogs to make, giving the progression, but still staying in the red science zone. I'm curious why you say ...

Re: pY Alien Life - Discussion

Having quite a bit of fun with this mod on top of the rest of PyMods and I'd never thought that I'd be tearing my hair out over just trying to get manure to automate circuits :) One question, it seems that the kicalk early game is almost useless. Unless I've done my math wrong it takes about 4x mor...

Re: Guide to pY: LTN and misc tips

No mall? Hmm, I just have a giant mall. Don't have time to handcraft every building. My mall is about the size of my iron/copper smelting lines. Makes everything up to mk2 models. Some select stuff even higher. I've just put sane amount limits on every building. and then I use blueprint chest reque...

Re: Guide to pY: LTN and misc tips

Tips You can mine quartz and borax with the crystal mine Store the waste resources, you will need them one day. Tailings can be processed into benzene and aromatics, and aromatics into olefin. Both can be burnt to generate a good deal of power. The farm and paddock in AlienLife is very slow by defa...

Guide to pY: LTN and misc tips

Background pY is a very complicated mod series. It requires you to play completely different from vanilla, or Angels and Bobs. To progress in game, the next item in chain usually requires every product that you have made previously in the chain, instead of just the end product from the previous cha...

Re: Silver Foam - What am I missing?

because 1 space sci/s is too much..... i built my base for 0.1/s, but there is still so much bugs and improvement to do while the factory is running itself. and for most of the time its the factory that is waiting for me to clear the breakdown instead of me having to wait the factory to churn out sc...

Re: Quantum computer up to pyRO

after 435 hours of exhausting work, I consider myself to have finally "won" the game 0.1 space sci/s, from a tangled mess of successful and failed designs, it works with numerous bugs....but at least it works! Wow! Great job! Does that include pyPH? nope, i am already 300 hours into this save when ...

train all your tailings to a central processing plant. turn it into coal water slurry then combustion mixture, or into benzene for combustion mixture and aromatics for other chemicals. i have used this for main power generation with hydrogen power as backup. never needed any other power this way and...

Re: pY HighTech Discussion

Hello, just got into pY after completing most other mode. So i taught i would do a pure PY mod run. Now i've hit into this massive wall of making 1st gen PCB. From the (outdated?) info charts on imgur it looks rather simple, but to make the formica, things get abit insane. So i've postponed this pr...

Re: Show Me Your...

Lol sorry was too tired to wait for day time. It's crude to BTX to aromatics to petgas, and coal bed gas to acid gas, and that makes sulfuric acid. These are all red buildings. Uses about 170 crude, 1.7 iron, and .85 nex for 1000 sulfuric without modules. really? need to nerf it xD we really should...

Aside from the large deposits which need the specialized miner, is there an ore to mine to generate Raw Nexelit?
The only other way I can see for making it is using tailings, which seems odd.
theres a green sci recipe that allows u to dig raw nexelit anywhere with the ground borer.

Re: Py Beginner advice - map settings / bus

Fluid multi-requests are probably a solid nope with the 0.17 changes anyways, LTN or not. So far my bases have been compact enough to get by with pipelines and occasional repressurization pumps, so I don't have anything practical for that. it actually become easier in 0.17 with LTN. in 0.16 you nee...
