Re: [0.16.51] Lost/lazy bots
I see, maybe then a sort of safeguard that automatically recalls personal robots when the player gets too far, maybe also as a function of available charge? But this does nothing against the problem if you're already moving fast enough to leave them behind in the first place, I'm afraid

Re: Power Armor Batteries
I agree that charged batteries should theoretically stay charged even out of the armor's inventory, at least in principle; but this is a situation that becomes noticeable onky if you manually swap dead batteries with charged ones, which is a level of fiddling I would personally find annoying and ...

Re: [0.16.51] Lost/lazy bots
I don't really know if that is possible, but maybe a fix would be to implement some sort of cycle that says "every x seconds (maybe once a minute), reset all work assignments to robots, then reassign them based on the new situation": this way, a worker robot that is already near the construction ...

Re: Improving fluid system by removing pipe volume
Yes, except for the fact that:
- 1. There is no actual fluid in the pipes, they are simply connectors.
2. Flow rate on long pipelines is more intuitively modelled

Re: Improving fluid system by removing pipe volume
Your description was clear, maybe it was my reply that was a little fuzzy. What I meant is that, since all of the "paths" that connect the tanks together pass through the one pipe, that pipe is the bottleneck because it determines the flow. In all the other pipes, flow is slower and determined by ...

Re: Improving fluid system by removing pipe volume
Actually, you just named the bottleneck: it's the single pipe. Since the fluid is incompressible, and the energy levels are the same in the tanks, the fluid flows through at exactly the same speed as it would if there were just two tanks, which is quite the definition of a bottleneck. To increase ...

Re: Improving fluid system by removing pipe volume
Since my idea is based in real-life pipe flow models, I thought to apply the same solving methods to the system as well. The original post initially had a section which explained the model and mathematical assumptions but I cut it to avoid getting sidetracked.
The short version is:
-Every vessel in ...

Improving fluid system by removing pipe volume
TL;DR
Instead of having a fluid system made of vessels of different size linked together, this proposal centers around the idea that pipes are just connectors and do not have a volume of their own.
In detail?
My idea is to have the fluid system more representative of real-life flow models and ...
